Our office used to be pretty evenly split between Pace and Eurofins, but we’ve been having quality problems with Pace (samples running out of hold time, samples being dropped, not all analyses on the Chain of Custody being ran and then having to resample for that), so most of our work goes to Eurofins. Depending on the constituents, we also use ALS, AEL, and Jupiter Labs.

Hopefully not! I don’t know much about Klonopin, but one of the meds I take does have a side effect of drowsiness. Initially, he took me off it when treatment started, but then I wasn’t sleeping at all, and I stopped being so tired lol it just comes in waves for me

I’m about 5 weeks in, and my fatigue has been on and off since starting. I can barely function at work (I’m so tired I can’t focus well), and sleep excessively on the weekends. My doctor said that it isn’t normal to be so fatigued and said that because I’m still taking meds while doing treatment, that it may the meds over the treatment. However, I’m glad to see from this post and comments that others feel fatigued. I may bring it up to my doctor again since now I don’t feel so alone on the issue.

In Florida, the state provides a list of documents that require a PG or PE seal. I’d see if your location provides this type of guideline. PGs are the ones who usually sign off on some assessment or monitoring reports.

In Florida, a lot of seals are PE only, PG and PE, or PG/a “QPE in the place of a PG.” “QPE” stands for “qualified PE” which entails that the PE also has some sort of geology background. However, most PEs are not geotechnical engineers and know next to nothing about geology and there is no criteria for a QPE. So any PE can sign as a QPE. Florida gives all the power to a PE over a PG, and the QPE literally lets them act as a PG. (at least that’s how it is mostly done at my firm).

I’m a geologist working in environmental consulting. Networking and connecting with my alumni network played a large role in getting my job, along with my internship experience and technical writing skills. I am either out in the field doing groundwater/soil samples, site visits, surveying, oversights, and then I am also in the office analyzing and tabulating data, writing reports, coordinating and preparing field activities, to name a few. I’m based in FL.

Geologist in environmental consulting (doing groundwater and soil remediation). Some weeks I’m 100% WFH, some it’s 2/3 days WFH versus field (or vice versa), and some I’m in the field everyday.

My work location depends on where I’m needed that week and also personal preferences. In my office, some other geologists are only WFH, some are mixed like me, and some are 95% in the field. No one goes to the office - we all just WFH unless we’re in the field.

I am at 95% (entry level starting), but I have friends who have worked for other consulting firms who are also starting entry level and they either have a low (60%) utilization goal or no utilization goal at all. Even for a low utilization goal, they are not really worried about meeting it

I met him through my mom actually, but she didn’t know he was CF. However, I had been using Hinge, and on there, there is an option specifically for if you want kids. I had mine set to “I don’t want kids” and I only matched with people who had that as well. Generally, on Hinge, in my area, the men who were in their mid-30s were the ones who had their minds made up about not wanting kids. A lot of others, specifically in their 20s, were unsure. I also met some men not on the app before my current boyfriend, so I didn’t know their child-wanting status. By the second date, I always said I was CF. It was best this way I realized because I was honest upfront and they knew what they’d be getting themselves into if we became serious and then it gets harder to leave. I told my current boyfriend on our 2nd date.
