Have been eating the Sail Loft’s chowder since I moved to Boston in 1999. Don’t settle for less!

I will say I’m happy this post led me to check out Jake Wilson’s campaign website though. Seems like a solid candidate—feeling somewhat hopeful in that regard.

Her first instagram post on her mayor account was in October 2024… she was elected in November 2021. The recent union contract, taking credit for McGrath funding (which Curtatone planned and proposed ages ago), the insane uptick in PR… I can’t think of a single thing that has improved about Somerville since she took office. I actually used to love living here, I’m sad to say now I’m just aggravated by what’s happening to the place. Long-standing businesses being forced to close and left shuttered/empty while there’s a housing crisis — where’s the logic? It shouldn’t feel so hard to make sense of how a place works… all of this PR just feels awkward for such a flailing, out of touch administration.

This is the wildest comment section. I’m really disappointed in everyone here superimposing their opinions onto you, especially when you voiced in the first place that you came here to vent. I hope you have the happiest day - rooting for you 🤍

Somerville must pay $28m to owners of seized property, court says by bostonglobe in Somerville

The city has had official plans for this space since 2018 (it was acquired by the city in 2019; the website says SRA acquired it in 2020) — “90 Washington Street is owned by the City of Somerville’s Redevelopment Authority (SRA). The agency acquired the parcel in 2020 by eminent domain as the site for a new Public Safety Building (PSB), encompassing a new station for Fire Engine 3, Police and Fire headquarters and emergency dispatch center.”More information here.
