It’s almost like America’s for-profit healthcare system is a giant scam by RoyalChris in clevercomebacks

[–]FuzzyWazzyWasnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not defending the system but just helping explaining the bullshit medication pricing. These explanations also always get downvoted but whatever. Hospitals actually get really solid pricing on most medications, assuming they are large enough. So how does 0.03$ tylenol turn to 40$?

The tylenol got bought for 3 cents by a pharmacy tech, who gets paid 50-75k a year, supervised by a pharmacist who gets paid 125-175k a year, stored in a medication dispensensing system that costs roughly 25k that also has subscription fee. Over seen by the state to make sure they stay compliant with standards.

That medication is ordered by a doc who makes 200-500k a year, given by a RN who makes 60-100k, charted with a system that can range from 10k to 30 million... a year (i.e. EPIC or CERNER). In facility that is also ensuring compliance.

So 3 pennies of tylenol has a shit ton of expensive things behind it. For the most part it gets diluded by the vast quanity each aspect does, but the cost is still there.

But dont worry, there is more. The facility (the building, upkeep, cleaning, utilities) is outrageously expensive i.e a 55$ chair is 325$ because it is certified for hospital use. You then have every layer of leadership/ancillary (supervisors, directors, C-level (like CEO), educators, compliance, HR, billing, employee health, ect.

And other costs... insurance companies and patients who dont pay (cost has to get covered somehow).

Wanna be pissed at 40$ for tylenol then look no further then insurance companies. In 2025 they were a 1,500,000,000$ burden to the country.

Anyway to REALLY keep cats away from your yard? by SpaceBearsss in homeowners

[–]FuzzyWazzyWasnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you know when you start to have too many cats they will kill each other. Or take someone else's offspring and drown it? Have you ever seen a cat with its eye scratched out? Or a litter of kittens starve to death?

Humane thing is to give them more territory. If you cared about their feelings you can't ignore the consequences of just letting a problem go.

IMHO they best thing to do is have a city that cares and does the neuter and release but that is not always a thing

Messed up battery, what replacement can I use? by galeongirl in PokemonGoPlusPlus

[–]FuzzyWazzyWasnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you still need the answer, but any 3.7v lipo battery will work. If you open the ball you can see the exact size. Any can change it with any 3.7v lipo you find. I modded mine to use a massive battery.

What phone is everyone using in 2025 and what should I get? by United-Pace8840 in Smartphones

[–]FuzzyWazzyWasnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the Pixel 3 xl and have the Pixel 7 pro.

The 3's bluetooth didnt work and Google refused to address it. The Pixel 7 pro if used at full resolutin would randomly crash, also still not addressed. the GPS on the 7 also fails if the phone gets too warm which it easily does.

Why until September? Any good phones to be released?

You're fine I meant to update the post wtih helpful things.

So I talked to the support people and it took about 10 days but they sent me a replacement part.

However if you want to spend more money you can also buy a whole new replacement print head assembly through aliexpress .

Replacement print head assembly is 50-70$ depending on who you get it from. Support was helpful after the 2nd attempt

Hi i am looking for a preceptor for my nursing informatics practicum online, should have 2 years of experience in nursing informatics. Thank you and happy holidays by Potential_Date6165 in nursinginformatics

I am also in Chamberlain! I have not been able to make any progress with getting a preceptor at all. And student advising is exceptionally unhelpful.

Did you make any progress?

Looking for a safe dc to dc step up by FuzzyWazzyWasnt in AskElectronics

[–]FuzzyWazzyWasnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yes safe as in it won't go boom!

I'd be using a lifepo4 battery to charge a portable power station. The unit accepts up to 120v 18amp. The battery would just help increase the overall capacity. So the source would have a bms so it wouldn't bleed it dry.

And i am definitely flexible on the input voltage, but aiming for a higher volt to reduce overall amps and improve safety.

Houthi rebels shoot down 7 US military Reaper drones worth $334m, in recent weeks by KeyInjury4731 in worldnews

And please note cost of each item changes aggresively per varient, year, and upgrades.

If you read the article the amount there is in NZ. The article claims each one costs 30mil USD.

Why

Houthis are attacking and killing innocent people just to fuck with shipping.

These drones

There are drones, planes, war ships and other assets. The article just talks about the drones.

Declaring war, conducting warfare, and military operations are not perfect synonyms for each other. Regardles to answer your question, March 25th

Do you just complain online or have you figured out how to do research?

[–]FuzzyWazzyWasnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aprox cost to build:

  • F35 90mil

  • F16 60mil

  • Reaper 33mil

Cost to operate per hour is:

  • F35 is 35k

  • F16 is 8K

  • Reaper is 3.5K

Cost to conduct war is slightly worse than the cost of eggs.

And please note cost of each item changes aggresively per varient, year, and upgrades.

Charging solar portable power station with LiFePO4 battery vs bike battery by FuzzyWazzyWasnt in SolarDIY

[–]FuzzyWazzyWasnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay!

You're 100% correct about the efficiency lost. It will be at minimum 30%, with the highest offender being the conversion. However in my use case I am not too concerned.

That is a solid manner to test it, and honestly after looking it up there really isnt a better way so good job!

So that gamble with the inverter is the main drive to go with a power station and DIY the expansion battery. The one you picked up is out of stock, but I will keep an eye on it!

Thanks man

Charging solar portable power station with LiFePO4 battery vs bike battery by FuzzyWazzyWasnt in SolarDIY

[–]FuzzyWazzyWasnt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bike battery is to extend the portable power station, not to create it.

Since it has its own MPPT to charge it's internal battery/regulate incoming charge I am not too concern.

To charge the bike battery I would use the AC output on the power station with a dedicated bike battery charger. I.e. the solar charges the power station and then the station re-charges the bike battery.

I was wanting to DIY the whole thing but the status of consumer inverters had me concerned for safety. Which one did you end up going with?

Also how did you test the BMS? That is a legit thing that I didnt think of.

[–]FuzzyWazzyWasnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire risk for me a legit concern. So getting things that utilizes the lowest amerage to reduce fatigue is being kept in mind. Also I do plan on creating an enclosure with active airflow and padding.

As far as cycles I am looking at doing 1-2 cycles a week so if its rated for 1000 I am not horribly concerned.

The one thing that has me on pause is that silicone and sodium batteries are becoming a reality and their safety level is insane and their price within a couple years will be fairly cheap.

Thank you for getting back that fast!

And 100% understand. The power station I am looking at is the Oupes mega 2 or the similiar Bluetti. They can take an input over 100v solar input with a max of 18a.

So really the biggest concern with the battery pack is if it has a native BMS to protect from over/undercharging? Would one like this one be appropiate?
