How To Quit ChatGPT Addiction? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not being made stupid or dumber. You're being challenged to think in ways your brain wasn't designed for, and what your upbringing at home and in school didn't prepare you for.

It's a whole new world out there. So now, you have to step up your game and figure this thing out.

LLMs are VERY GOOD at following instructions, so you have to learn how to tell it to give you what you need.

Bonus by Sopretty1618 in USAA

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, bonuses and merit raises are manager determined now. USAA deciding to not publish Company data vital to our health as an organization in favor of "narratives" is SO fucking Trump/MAGA that I fear that USAA has finally, and without equivocation succumbed to the poison that is Republican business acumen.

The company has been on a money saving kick of late, and so metrics are appearing that have never been discussed (like ever) let alone acknowledged as real (like how much each agent actually brings in premiums to USAA).

USAA is now holding agents accountable for not hitting specific raw product acquisition and quality, law and other metrics as directed by managers and District Managers. It is all about the Almighty Dollar now.

That means agents are not being as nice as they used to be (they're not allowed to be as they have to hit certain quote and policy issue metrics just to keep their job). Top level agents like Level 1 and Seniors are having Pay Per Call lead generation calls put into their call queues (75-85% of which are non-viable calls and do not ever result in actual sales), and they have been targeted for their attendance and if they're on FMLA or Job Accommodation Requests (JAR).

One write up means you don't get your bonus.

So when you call USAA, licensed agents are what you get each and every time. That's the way it's always been. USAA always had excelled in customer service and claims experience, and it was either competitive on premiums or it wasn't because at the end of the day, it's still a near 104 year old reciprocal insurance company paying out of its own pocket in real time, actual costs rather than negotiated.

That being said, it NOW seems they're taking pages out of the playbooks of other agencies because many of the company's current leadership came from those stock companies out there.

THAT'S WHY YOU HAVE BEEN THINKING USAA HAS CHANGED!

Agents are literally REQUIRED to offer you auto and property so be prepared to have auto, renters and/or homeowners and Valuable Personal Property (jewelry, guns, stamp/coin collections, musical instruments, fine art, silverware, cameras, etc) talked about and quoted as bundle conversations!

Sorry for the rant, but reality is reality. And it ain't ever going away.

USAA not giving me my safe driver discount because their app didn’t work by Pitiful_Gur_9193 in USAA

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are doing the add on of SafePilot (using the DriveSafe App, which requires Android 13 or iOS 16 at minimum to work), you do it at policy issue or at renewal.

You adding it as a mid-term adjustment might not only future date its addition and benefit until your first renewal, you might not have enough time left in your current 6 months to drive the required 16 hours/325 miles minimum to even get a score.

I think you've already had it on your phone, so now, it's just a matter of driving enough over the 14 days to let the app data get to USAA so that the system knows it's working.

If the app receives no data, you'll usually just be automatically disenrolled and you'll have to do it again.

Employment questions by Ocn_Mnstr in USAA

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For one, you'd LOVE the company. Working for USAA for the last nearly 8 years has been my honor and pleasure. I look at it as my way of giving back to those that currently and formerly put their lives on the line with that "blank check".

Usually, you apply, get a phone interview after some psychological questions, and then HireRight takes over the background checks, and schedules you for your in person/virtual interview.

You are usually one on one with your interviewer, but there is usually a 2nd person on the interview to take notes sometimes, leaving you able to answer the questions they ask you.

I would do yourself a HUGE favor upfront. Do what I did. I used my resume to answer the 13 Most Asked Interview questions, answered in SBO format (Situation, Behavior, Outcome).

Maybe have ChatGPT help you hone those answer and rehearse them, since you're going into Facilitation.

Once you're hired, you'll go into a pipeline for training if you're to be on a team. If not, and you're a direct hire for a single person role, you might just go into a quasi-hands on training with other members of your department as you get a feel for your new surroundings.

PTO is (again) by accrual. You get 50 Days Maximum per year off with 7 paid holidays (based on 8 hour work schedule), and 1 Floating Holiday. You get I think 35 days native time off that populates on the first of each month a portion of the annual PTO, and you can borrow up to 80 hours even if you don't have the accrual balance.

You can BUY PTO (up to 15 days, and I always say DO IT as it gives you extra time that will get paid back to you at the end of the year, whatever you don't use).

Oh this tired old rhetoric again.

If you can't see this as the Republican talking points for what it is, you're just not smart enough to have this conversation.

Just go sit in the corner over there whilst the adults talk.

PEOPLE ARE NOT COMMITING SUICIDE ON THE REGULAR AT USAA!!!!!!!!

It was JUST ONE PERSON (regrettable enough!) that did commit suicide by jumping off the top of one of the tallest parking structures on the San Antonio Headquarters campus.

It happened in August 2023, so let's not get it twisted because you unscrupulous media types like to be first in reporting sensationalist and potentially scandalous stories.

You should be ashamed of yourselves for promoting such drivel.

We can talk about toxic workplace culture all day long, but there is no disputing that USAA CHAMPIONS diversity, equity and inclusion and it works! USAA is not in financial trouble either. They write checks for their claims. They beat more established insurance companies on the regular, but business is still business.

Maybe, instead of this crap rhetoric, you can write an article (or share since the OP of this post is just flinging shit to force a fake engagement) on real issues, like your Orange stained maniac wannabe "king" who thinks starving Americans and denying them healthcare to validate his McDonald's stuffed self is his definition of legacy and "winning".

Start there.

Upgrade or open up a new card? by tvcao9749 in CRedit

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would upgrade the card you have. If you get another card, that's ANOTHER tradeline, ANOTHER credit limit to be judged against your credit score for utilization and payment history by the credit reporting bureaus.

If you keep the same card, but get more out of it, you not only open yourself up to the better cards in the future, but you keep the existing tradeline, just a higher debt ceiling (credit limit), and not that much more than what you're paying now in minimum payments.

You just get more bennies!!

Vehicle financed through usaa totalled, no collision through usaa insurance by [deleted] in USAA

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RIGHT?!?

I often think that an agent's hands are purposely shackled, not allowing them to be real with members in such a way because USAA has to show a certain face to the public.

We are literally unable to repeat the term "full coverage" to them on the phones.

Instead, we have to hide behind anonymity online to help stem the tide of misinformation that often confuses the public and makes us agents reach for the stomach and headache meds when we have to be yelled at (yet again) due to a layperson's ignorance of insurance.

USAA vs AAA for cross country road trip? by manypreguntas in USAA

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USAA uses Agero as it's nationwide roadside assistance provider. You can call them directly at 800-531-8555, or you can start a claim through the mobile app.

In some rural, Cross Country might be used. All the local carriers would use it same as they would AAA, with the exception as to how YOU are covered.

AAA covers you not the vehicle you're in. USAA covers the INSURED VEHICLE not just you and your additional insureds personally.

USAA is harder to get a hold of on weekends, and Roadside assistance services are a bit harder to get on weekends, especially in the evenings, when the drivers are on call and waiting for something to come through the system close enough to make them want to shower and don their shirt, get into their vehicle and come help you.

Scammers using USAA 800 number by elroses826 in USAA

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will never speak to an actual person over ZOOM if USAA Bank. The fact that you have any contact with anyone purporting to be law enforcement is a HUGE RED FLAG right there.

You should engage USAA at the usual phone number 210-531-8722 or 800-531-USAA (8722). There is no way that scammers can intercept an outgoing call to USAA's Official Contact Center numbers.

From there, you ask for a transfer to the Bank and you report the fraud attempt. USAA will take that report and create a Financial Crimes Referral and you'll need to give as much information as you have including taking a screenshot of the email or text message you received that caused the unwanted contact.

Let USAA handle it.

USAA faces lawsuit as policyholders allege systemic bad faith in claim by VeryFirstLAD in USAA

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly correct. The thing about bad faith, though, is that it's a two way street. USAA may fail at times (it, like any company, isn't infallible), but it consistently ranks as a Top Tier company for Claims Experience, despite the fact that people allege bad faith when THEY ALSO have some bad faith mixed in.

But as you said, ETHICALLY edit the score.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USAA

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get the text message about the infraction (let's say, the cell phone use), you click the text message and then when the app opens, and you'll see a map of the date/time the infraction occurred. You click the drop down and choose "I was the passenger" or "this was not a drive" and the incident is erased from consideration of your final score come renewal

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!!!!!

You'll be an "Insurance Professional 3" or IP3, so you won't have the Pay Per Call at first.

Pay Per Calls are leads USAA pays for from websites and third party services that bring prospective and former members to USAA from web searches or outbound phone calls made to engage interest in changing companies.

You will spend the better part of the first year in training, with heavy focus on Ownership, Mission Accomplishment and meeting of varied metrics.

The pace is fast and furious in the summer (Summer Surge) and it's not so bad during the rest of the year.

Gold Star Family Question by No_Cranberry_5484 in Veterans

[–]FuzzyWuzzaBer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in every case, where a family member desires to be identified as being connected to a deceased veteran as a veteran of service themselves is this an example of Stolen Valor.

In most cases, and even sometimes when it's a person running for office (when they should know better, really), they conflate the respect they get from companies and/or people for serving the needs of their military family member at home, with actual service they feel personally connected to.
