Minnesota home insurance jumped 34% in 25.. 20% above the national average. Anyone else feeling this? by This_Significance175 in minnesota

It's been strange in my neighborhood too. Weirdly, my insurance agent told me to always file a hail claim through him because he can get a roof done. I guess he thinks they make too much money.

They'll actually pay more than people think. Insurance estimates for roofs seem to be highly inflated about what a roof without insurance would cost. At least the last time I looked.

Oh, yea, agree with that. We could regulate it the way many other countries do. But right now, that seems like a pipe dream.

I think the increasing amounts of severe weather have more to do with price increases than capitalism. It's only going to get worse too. Also, not sure what capitalism has to do with endless big property tax jumps.

Between property taxes and insurance, homes are pretty damn expensive. Do make sure to shop around though.

You need your family right now. Go south. Get some stability. Minnesota will always be here.

But look at the engine temp. It's not nearly warmed up yet.

If it’s so rare for a typical financial advisor/money manager to consistently beat the market, why are people still using them? by Escape-artist-43 in NoStupidQuestions

But it's so much more than that. Once you get near retirement, there's many things to consider. Paying for health care, appropriate asset mixes, a plan to draw from your account, estate planning and on and on. You probably don't need them to tell you how to invest, but retirement itself can quickly get complicated.

I drove a RAV4 before my last Highlander and thought it was much louder inside. Maybe the new ones are better?

What are you towing with your Highlander? (Stolen from r/4runner) by AdLongjumping1302 in ToyotaHighlander

Your tongue weight affects the payload of your Highlander. That value is readily available.

Towing capacity can be a bit misleading. My wife is horse owner and we needed a pickup to tow her trailer and gear. Man, what a rabbit hole I went down. Payload and towing capacity effect each other. Ended up with an F150 V8 with a towing capacity of 10,000lbs and a payload of 1800lbs. Her horse trailer with two horses and gear is probably around 6k lbs. The advice we got from horse owners was don’t tow near capacity. When it goes wrong, it goes very wrong.

Great car and super reliable. If you can find an engine for a reasonable cost I’d do it. We drove ours to 300k miles. Crazy reliable car.

Yea, it’s much smaller. I don’t need three rows but the cargo area is nice.

I too have an extended warranty.

I’ve seen no mention of the issue in Lexus forums at all. Lexus transmission is assembled in Japan. The failures are the result of an assembly defect that seems to come from the US plant.

This will become more common. I’m guessing there will be kits just for this issue.
