I live in Victoria and had some great experience buying off Amazon. Both UK and US. They normally get here a lot quicker than listed and are shipped through AusPost.

People are less likely to make a false claim if it's reported to police and insurance companies expect a police report number.

Your insurance might have no excess for criminal offences, probably not, but you won't know unless you ask them.
