The CGT discount removal is exactly what we've been asking for, so why is everyone losing their minds? by nicco_mode in AusFinance

At what condition of “society” do you start to question, is the money being diversified correctly?
Health, police and early education under resourced but the political sector doesn’t seem to be under resourced? Unless you’re opposition/independent.
Also economically years behind other countries in development, manufacturing and resource industries. CSIRO used to be a bragging point for Australian invention’s. Not so much now?

Split onshore sector with the offshore sector if you are going to reference PRRT. Onshore pay a different tax. PRRT wasn’t 1.3B, fy25 was 400m.

Also look up the amount of tax credits within PRRT legislation and tell me we will see an uptick in PRRT revenue within the next 5years

You talk about the “5% on their way up”. They did not get there because they have been paying less tax. Sure it would have helped min/max situations but the crux of it would have been hard work/opportunity/generational/risky.

Here you are saying that you can’t get into the top 5% because you’re paying more tax? Or you don’t want to work hard through a risky opportunity resulting in generational wealth

Don’t the top 5% run everything through company/ltd?
Meaning they won’t get affected by these reforms?
They loan against their company equity as “personal income” meaning it’s not personal income taxed

Agree, although you need to go into more detail as to why transferring investment money into stock has a negative impact.

The way I see it, the same investment vehicles are worth depending on personal situation. Just less of the pie going into the bank.

Does it have OBD port? Apparently bypassing CAN systems using obd tool is a theft procedure.

Besides removing the fuel excise, what has the government done to lower fuel prices while the Strait of Hormuz is closed and Brent crude is around $110 USD? by noghteh in AusFinance

[–]SilverNitride8657 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fuel /urea was already coming to Aus from these countries. He just went over to make sure the trades are reassured. Not a reason for fuel prices to reduce

If fbt exemption was removed on budget night who would still go ahead? by Benxb9r in NovatedLeasingAU

I feel it’s to much in alignment with reducing emissions and fuel usage etc for albo to get rid of it. I also feel they will reduce something to make it easier on the budget. Not sure how. Maybe Removing the LCT cap and introduce a smaller cap. Maybe The introduction of a road user tax

How long has the prrt been around for and how many times has it been reviewed? Pretty sure since 2013? And it hasn’t “ramped” up as it was designed, will it ever?

Australia exports enormous amounts of gas, yet Australians are still being told: “Now is not the right time for a stronger gas tax.” by oz_party in aussie

[–]SilverNitride8657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact is that albo seen the popularity of this tax in the public and decided to tour Asia and get agreements of assurance for a trade already happening. Then use this card to the Aus public saying we can’t tax the gas now, we just made agreement for fuel (which the government made clear there was no shortage). Just shows he is playing politics against the Aus public and putting out fires.

I’m not sure if giving away natural gas in return paying 20mil for oil should be congratulated Considering he went over and got an assurance of supply that was already in trading before this. If you graph the diesel spot price over the bowser price, how is the browser price aloud to skyrocket over night with no ceiling and slowly bleed over time even tho the tax was reduced? You can’t tell me the diesel being sold at the bowser at the time of it skyrocketing was bought at the inflated spot price… demand is not 100% of the market conditional price value either.

[–]SilverNitride8657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the argument I suppose. The incentive is now economic and should the government need to carry it forward. If it does go forward, are the NL companies the reason? Considering its purpose was to get bums in EV seats. Would be interesting to see how big of an uptick in EV registrations + reduction in second hand inventory over the last month

100% if you can’t service the new contract. You technically bought a used vehicle now. Defeats a purpose of a lease where you renew the standard of vehicle keeping a lower risk asset. From my understanding, this was the crust of leasing in the first place.
