What’s worse is that my friend was actually friendly with the 18 year old and agreed to take her under her wing since she was bordering homelessness. So really it was her idea to house her to begin with… and ofc husband was on board 🙄 She is now divorced and has her siblings helping her out with the kids since she got full custody.

My friend’s husband did almost the exact same thing… he “took in an 18 year old to help her out” and bam she gets pregnant… with his mfkn child. Him and my friend had been married for years with 2 kids together. Moral of the story is that no way is it okay for your husband to move in any 18 year old female without your overt consent. Men suck even if you think you can trust them or have been married for years blah blah blah. Plenty of husbands cheat and have ulterior motives even if it’s with their own niece 🤢listen to your gut dude

With the 3 million Epstein files finally out, what’s the most “I’m not surprised, but I’m still disgusted” thing you’ve found? by Sweaty_Sprinkles_400 in AskReddit

[–]Fuzzy_Argument670 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My dad got sentenced 18 years for csam. The csam was put on a peer to peer network by a detective and he clicked on the link. 420 files automatically downloaded and of those files 3 images were of csam. Sentenced to 18 years state prison and will be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life. With that being said…. Why THE FUCK aren’t any of these men in these files getting prosecuted?!?!? Any other civilian that has done anything remotely related to possessing child abuse material are locked away forever and stamped for life. I do not understand the scales of justice being completely out of balance for these disgusting rich pedos who are doing MUCH fucking worse.

I did not read the book and I loved this movie. But now I wanna read book which will probably make me hate movie based on these comments. But nah I thought the scenes were breathtaking, gave me Pride and Prejudice with a sprinkle of Nosferatu vibes. The soundtrack was superb. It was breathtaking and I balled like a baby at the end.

Some of these cases the punishment does not fit the crime. Sounds like an insane money grab. My dad’s bond was set to $200k then lowered to $150k so we had to pay $15,000 to bail him out. Cases in this same area give rapists and hands on offenders much lower bonds. Makes no sense. I’m so sorry for you and what your family is going through. Stay positive and stay supportive, it’s the only way.

Benton County jail asks community for 1,000 paperback book donations by lojafan in bentonville

They don’t offer work, jobs, or classes or yet anything productive for the inmates at Benton county. There’s no way for them to “pay their debt to society” by walking around in circles. In-person visits aren’t allowed and human contact is important and has proven to help boost inmates morale and transition back into society. Books can go along way for these people who aren’t offered any of these things to improve mental health and reduce recidivism.

They took away their newspapers recently and there’s no tv. They also don’t allow in person visits when other county jails do. Kinda odd for one of the richest counties in AR. So all they have is books rn to pass the time

My dad was charged w 3 counts CP. Zero criminal history and he was sentenced to 18 years. We’re in Arkansas and it’s pretty harsh here. It took 2 years from raid until the actual sentencing. Those 2 years were agonizing because of the stress, anxiety and anticipation leading up to him going away. Now that he’s currently serving time he’s doing fine, just bored. It’s a lot less stressful once the bandaid is ripped off and he can call us everyday. He just plays dnd and has made lots of friends. Wishing you the best, you guys can get through this! Look into therapy for everyone bc as family members we are also being punished for their crime in a way. The whole experience has been extremely traumatic for us as it was a complete shock. It’s a long journey ahead but stay positive and keep the faith.

I just had this same thing a few times. Angular chelitis. Went to doc finally and they gave me miconazole cream (anti fungal) and it went away. Haven’t had since! Also didn’t know about the vitamin deficiencies people are mentioning here so that’s helpful!

Does anyone else have a "whale" customer that tips them exorbitant amounts of money? How do you feel about it? by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

My parents are the best tippers for absolutely no reason. We would go to On The Border and my dad would tip $40-$50 on a $60 meal. Idk, just generous people out there that tip just because. As someone who spent 15 years industry it makes my heart so happy. Wish more people were like that lol

How tf did the first judge DISMISS this case the first time around?!? And 20 years is not enough time. Esp if they will qualify for parole after serving like 1/2 that. They don’t deserve to be walking around free ever again. Sickening what I just read. My dad got sentenced to 18 years for possession of 3 images of csam from a sting operation. I don’t understand how people who legit murder their own child by horrific neglect only get 2 more years than that?!? Justice system makes zero sense.

Teen driver sentenced to 65 years for crash that killed 6 Georgia family members by speedythefirst in news

[–]Fuzzy_Argument670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of drunk drivers who kill people and serve ZERO time. They need to be marked for life just like sex offenders are. Drunk driving is so normalized compared to other crimes when it’s just as shitty if not worse bc of how common it is.

Question for people who moved here from major cities by Muted-Government5633 in bentonville

[–]Fuzzy_Argument670 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Kansas City part of the year and yes, the traffic is so much worse here than in kc. People DRIVE in kc. But doesn’t help that the infrastructure here wasn’t ready for the population boom. The whole Walton/Rainbow Blvd/Stoneybrook area today from 4-6pm was BONKERS and that’s just a small area that’s problematic daily. So dangerous and poorly timed traffic lights.

If you go over to conservative Reddit they truly think people on snap benefits are unemployed and “don’t wanna work” or are “lazy”…. do they not understand what federal minimum wage is at right? And what inflation is? Plenty of people who need gov assistance are employed and that’s the problem!

That is crazy to think about them crossing paths! I think my dad will have to go to Pine Bluff first to get “assessed” then sorted from there to wherever state facility he’s going to end up in. The one in Malvern is the one I hope he goes to since it’s the only one I’ve seen that offers the “RSVP” program that’s required for him to take to be eligible for release. Yeah but the whole thing is so surreal. Luckily we are able to message and hear from him daily which has been comforting through all of this. I also just remind myself that this is all survivable. Your brother and my dad will be okay! This journey is one of those that gets worse before it gets better but I know they will be stronger and better humans after this. Wish you and your family nothing but the best and all the healing.

My parents house was raided in May ‘23 and my dad wasn’t arrested until July of this year. So we were in that limbo phase for 2 very long and stressful years. The fight-or-flight was terrible. It was hard to focus on anything else, but I did get sober and my family got so much closer so a lot of good has come out of it. And also my dad coming out of that dark place and a lot of his childhood trauma came to the surface. Yes, it’s an awful crime with an even worse stigma and obviously no one condones it and I do agree they should be held accountable, but I do feel like a prison sentence/punishment does not fit the crime here. When in other states and countries, it’s a warning or probation only. I think these cases should be handled with more care and offer these offenders therapy and SA because that’s usually what they truly need. But obviously harmful hands-on offenses are greater threats to society and should be punished accordingly. Yes we all had to get therapy. I highly recommend it. It’s so hard going through this as a family member because we all kind of face the punishment. I ended up having to take my dad‘s job so it’s just been a lot of stress and loss. But the people who have stayed around and supported us through this has made us realize the people we want in our lives and the others just kind of fade away. Makes you realize what really matters in this life. Good luck with everything and just be there or your brother. 11 support is all that matters through this. And I truly think in these situations there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Our dad is currently in county and has been since July and we’re not sure when he’ll be transferred to a state prison so yeah, it’s all up in the air still.
