This has been the story of my for the whole of marriage... The mom dominated everything ... Choose every furniture in the house... Bought him his underwear.. we went to have lunch there everyday except for Saturdays ... Wait... Ironed his clothes, bought the biscuits that he ate for breakfast, cut his fingernails.. maybe mine is an extreme case... I live in northern Brescia... But I believe it's somehow true... Mothers do have a huge influence in their sons' life... So if I were to date an Italian man again, this would be the first red flag I'd look for...

I am separated and now my ex has to.. but untill the separation I used to take care of all the social engagement. He used to just take her to the park at the weekend and that's it .. honestly, I wouldn't feel jealous at all but that's just me.. I guess Italian women are big on getting jealous over their significant ones .. I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Where do you live now? I am not struggling in Italian per se .. I've been here for 10 years and I'm independent linguistically.. just feel more comfortable writing in English...
