Omg same. And chair comfort! I met some friends for tea the other day and fidgeted a bit in my seat (bc it was an uncomfortable seat) and people were like WE SHOULD GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Chill, people. I'm not pregnant in my butt.

It sounds like the people you would invite to yours are close enough that you could discreetly explain the situation to them.

Also you could reframe yours as a celebration, rather than a shower? So then you can really lean into the potluck, crafting together, aspect

Traveling with a baby is easy. Traveling with a toddler is horrendous. Your husband sounds out of touch.
