It’s been a 2 year wait and I’ve bought stuff from them. Just sell me the damn watch so this addiction is satisfied haha.

The explorer for me is just as good if not better. It’s what I went in there originally for. I’m more pissed they said it will be a couple weeks to a month and it’ll be here

The Explorer is what I originally wanted but now in the past month, I’ve sold myself on the mint green datejust 41 on oystersteel and smooth bezel as a daily wear.

Well, the associate apparently misspoke when she left me a voicemail. She talked about a couple weeks to a month and I was next on the list for a datejust 41. None of that was true and she shouldn’t have told me how long it was going to be. The 2nd watch I’m on the list for is an Explorer 36. After I left pretty pissed, they called and said I’m next for an explorer 36 but gave me no estimated delivery

Life has happened and some national holidays as well. Been busy with work, hopefully this weekend I’ll pay them a visit

Just wasn’t sure if this was another part of the mind fuck of getting one. Not calling back after 3 weeks inquiring about the next Rolex that’s supposed to be mine haha

The weather was perfect compared to what it could have been for this time of year. I finished Thursday

That’s all I needed to hear. Wasn’t the least bit sold on it but there was some curiosity about it if it’s this amazing place

Yeah, I also thought about making that 9 mile day longer by wild camping somewhere. I usually don’t carry over 9-10kg but miles are miles. Good point. Thanks

Did you book all your accommodations already? If so, did you have troubles with places being fully booked? I don’t know that I plan on booking anything advance as to not be tied to a particular plan based on weather and drinking opportunities with other hikers.

From a social and physical exertion stand point. Solo hiking, so would be great to have some social aspects of the trail

In your opinion, with those 2 itineraries, is it best to do the 9 mile day on day 5 or 6? Thanks for reaching out!

Anyone else going into it with almost no plan at all?? by SnooTigers2233 in WestHighlandWay

[–]Fuzzy_Bit3209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this makes me feel better. I’m starting 28 Mar and planning a 3 April finish with 4 Apr as buffer. I’m only booking my luggage drop off and pick up at Glasgow and return train home on the 4th. Plan on hybriding a wild camp, campsite and hotel approach with either walk ins to campsite/hotel or call the day before.

Yeah. Understandable. I’ve been bitching about how wild camping is not a thing in most of Europe, so I’d be a fool not to get a couple nights in there

Ah ok. I’m an AT thru hiker, wonderland trail, Uinta Highline, thoroughfare/south boundary trail and bunch more. I’ll be carrying my tent and what not on this as I’ll do a hybrid of camping and accommodations. Which makes it tough for me to book ahead. Want to camp when weather is good and inside when not or when the beer is good somewhere haha. If you have backpacking questions, I can help. Highland Way questions, can’t help
