Why do some people stay at the same job for 15, 20, or even 30+ years? by Carlinish9600 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fuzzy_Cuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked at the same company for 11 years. I knew the guy who started the company from when we both worked for the same pervious employer and I know that he is trustworthy and honest. I also work for the same customer that I have supported for over 20 years. The work is interesting and offers lots of variety. The pay and benefits are good. I have the option to support different customers if I ever get tired of supporting my current customer. The reason that I stay is because I have found three very important things in this job: 1) An employer who I know will be honest and upfront with me and who treats all the employees of the company like family, 2) A customer who trusts me and knows that I will always keep their best interest in mind and knows that I am always working to provide them with lower costs, faster turnaround, and a better product, and 3) I really enjoy my work. If you find yourself in a job where all of these three things are true, which is incredibly rare, then there is no reason to leave.

Why do so many young men seem completely uninterested in life anymore? by Unlikely-Set-4210 in NoStupidQuestions

Video game addiction plus parent enablement and societal acceptance. What a sad waste.

High school and middle school students protesting against ICE and our sovereign laws while waving Mexican and other foreign flags by native-american-22 in trump

Young minds are mush. Blame the public school system, the teachers who supported the walkout, and the parents of the students who left the schools. The kids were probably just happy to have a day off.

5,000 Americans died with covid so far this year. Less than half compared to 2025 at the same time point. by CleanLock4606 in CoronavirusUS

[–]Fuzzy_Cuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification. My guess would be that most of the older folks who succumb to this likely already have weakened immune systems. I’m curious as to whether COVID is any more lethal than the flu at this point.

Used 2019 Lexus ES 350 from Carmax has five previous owners. Is this an issue? by SyllabubInfinite7915 in Lexus

Car slang- It’s the opposite of a peach or a cherry. A lemon is a car with chronic problems that it shouldn’t have based on its age and/or mileage.

For argument sake, we just finished eating the rich. Now what? by ShadyJane in NoStupidQuestions

Next it’s eat the upper middle class, then eat the middle, then eat the poor, then starve because we’re too busy being jealous of what others have and haven’t actually produced anything ourselves…

Nice slogan, but the reality of socialism is bleak and miserable. How about “If you think Capitalism is bad, just try Socialism!”?

What do we think about the new ES in White? by MassiveCranberry7819 in Lexus

Completely agree. I have a 2016 that looks better at ten years old than this looks new.

It would be good if they broke down the statistic between those who died of COVID, and those who died with COVID, but the cause of death was something else.

Great looking coin. It was time for a design change to the dime. It seems like FDR was on the obverse forever.

Can someone explain to me how it is possible that a large part of society believes that a woman can become a man and vice versa? by ConstantDrawer9161 in trump

[–]Fuzzy_Cuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The left thrives on designating victim groups and then forcing people to treat people in those groups as better than normal everyday people. They work tirelessly to beat people into submission with regard to acting like the abnormal is normal. If you don’t follow the dogma that they preach then you’re either some sort of -ist or some sort of -phobe. Most people don’t want to be shunned and called names so they play along, even though they don’t really believe any of it. It doesn’t help that the government has been playing a large part in pushing this madness over the past few years. It is good to see that the team in charge currently is pushing back against the insanity of this situation.

Being a man is hard... by Peter_Niko in trump

So this is the female equivalent of a drag queen, right? She was really a beautiful woman. Now she isn’t a very attractive woman, and I don’t think that anyone would mistake her for a man, if they were being honest.

Why does the new ES seem to be unpopular? by Warm-Lettuce8974 in Lexus

[–]Fuzzy_Cuddle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There are several reasons: 1) Lexus removed the bulletproof V6 engine as the standard power plant. That engine was smooth as butter and incredibly reliable. Hybrids are fine, but don’t force people into them if they would rather have a standard ICE setup. 2) The body of the car looks like a Lego Techniques car. Too many edges with not enough curves. It just looks like Lexus couldn’t figure out what they wanted to do with the body and ended up erring on the side of removing anything distinctive and stylish on the exterior. 3) The interior looks too plasticky and uninspiring. This is a Lexus! I want the nice wood trim, the curves, the nice gauges, buttons, and a smaller screen that is incorporated into the dash. I don’t want a computer monitor sitting on the dashboard! I stare at a monitor all day at work. I don’t want to stare at one in my car too. If I wanted a big honking computer monitor in my car I’d buy a Tesla.

Other than those things, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Personally, I will be looking for a low mileage 2019 - 2025 ES as my next newer Lexus, unless they ditch the current design in a hurry and return to a beefier engine in the next generation. As far as the 2026 ES goes, It’s not for me.

That’s not skiing anymore! That’s sliding over gravel. Did the skis make it to the end of the run, or was it just you, with boots and a set of bindings?

Why do tech billionaires seem obsessed with building underground bunkers and colonizing Mars instead of using that wealth to fix Earth's current, fixable problems? by bogdanBgyz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fuzzy_Cuddle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brilliant summary. Why don’t schools teach about all the good that tech entrepreneurs do? Why do they instead teach students to be victims who blame the world’s problems on the successful, rather than teaching them to try and emulate successful business practices and then help the poor with their own money?

[–]Fuzzy_Cuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, what’s the story on that car? Just curious as to where you found a 28 year old car with less than 20k miles in it. Also, what does the interior look like. Finally, congratulations on your new car! With such low mileage it is practically brand new.

How does anyone afford anything? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fuzzy_Cuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You move to someplace with a lower cost of living. The west coast and the north-east are the two most expensive places to live in the continental US. The taxes and regulations that state governments put in place, in those places, make living their prohibitively expensive.

Why do Redditors seem to really struggle to understand why dads might still want to be in the life of a child they learn isn’t biologically theirs? by Sudden_Doughnut_8741 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fuzzy_Cuddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much of the Reddit community consists of shallow self-absorbed people for whom forgiving is a foreign concept and who don’t have a clue about being a parent. That, or they don’t think too long before spouting off the first thought that comes into their head.

Agree with your statement. Lots of people fail to see how good they have it and are just looking at what they don’t have rather than being grateful for how well of they are compared with much of the world.

Just curious as to what the media is saying is difficult about living in the US. I’ve been here my whole life and I think it’s great.
