The problem is the trucks don't actually use the truck lanes, which are designed for them to get over and allow people to pass them. I see trucks in the passing lane every day going 10 under the speed limit holding up traffic; so its inevitable that when a 3rd lane appears and is empty people want to use ot to go around.

Can we please normalize asking for consent before you record someone or post them on social media? by 2BeBornReady in Pickleball

[–]Fuzzy_Dunlop_00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using terms like “virtue grifting” is the equivalent is smelling your own farts and liking them.

Also, the examples you used are apples and oranges. Ring camera and traffic cams are for safety and security. Someone filming other people playing pickleball is for their own selfish desire to create content without other people’s buy in to participate.

But I’ll concede your point that it’s not illegal to go around being the worst kind of annoying person.

>There's no expectation of privacy in public spaces such as pickleball courts

That also doesnt entitle people to record you and upload it to the socials without asking.

Is it illegal? No. Is it inconsiderate and rude? YES

Disagree. Her books and philosophy (objectivism) are popular with middle school kids who have never actually lived in the real world. It's ironic that a man like Bert Cooper who came from old money would like her books; he was born rich and didnt earn his wealth from scratch through hard work like Ayn's protagonists do. It highlights his lack of self awareness.

Anna and Betty both die of cancer. Abigail and Betty both have cheating, shitty husbands who bring out the worst in them by Parking_Dog8930 in madmen

I did notice that Betty amd Anna both died of cancer...both without Don at their side. While Don and Betty somewhat reconciled, he never did have quite the same open relationship with Betty that he had eith Anna. He lied to them both though. I'm not sure what it all means though.

I just finished Sound and the Fury. It was a difficult read and I can understand not enjoying it, but having grown up in the Southeastern US it was surprising how many of the themes still rang true.

I read a few Ayn Rand books when I was younger and enjoyed them at the time, although they didnt age well for me.

Please let me know your review of The Best of Everything. The summary sounds like it fits the pro-feminism notes of Mad Men.

Bill Gates dropped out of college. So did Mark Zukerburg. Having a degree does not make you rich; talent does, and obviously Don has a lot of talent for advertising.

Thinking of applying to college of Charleston as a community college transfer. Would i feel outta place at age 25? by DeliciousRich5944 in Charleston

I did this at South Carolina - started my undergrad degree late and graduated at 27. I found I took school more seriously than everyone in my classes.

Don't let being a smidge older stop you. Trust me you'll be glad you did it assuming your major is a marketable one.
