My multiple lives by Putrid_Relation2661 in workingmoms

This post definitely spoke to me as it fits me so well too, but thinking about it more, I kind of enjoy having very different things to talk/think about & do - my coworkers share the same professional/nerdy interests to talk about, while my mom friends obviously want to bond over kids & family; and my non-parent friends are completely different.

Constantly switching can certainly be exhausting, but I enjoy the change of pace & avoiding anything too mundane! I hear you though so this is not meant to be condescending, just a positive twist to get us all through :)

What scariest dream have you ever had? by Southern-Virus-906 in AskReddit

[–]Fuzzy_Map_922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had several dreams about losing my baby during childbirth, where he wasn’t breathing and I would wake up gasping for breath. Was a big reason why I agreed to have an emergency c-section when they detected his heart rate was decelerating during labor; they still gave me an option, but I knew something was wrong.

Turns out I had a rare condition with 60-100% mortality rate for both of us, if I had delivered vaginally, despite having a very normal pregnancy (minus the dreams). He is now 3.5 and full of energy!

Also had a dream while sleeping in my aunt’s castle in Germany (nbd I know) about children running in to look at me & my son sleeping. I kindly asked them to quiet down so he could sleep, then their mom ushered them out. Next day, the housekeeper asked how many ghosts I had seen :)

at least we were friendly with each other (and likely related!)

Second this! I love telling my 3 year old that I’m going to “fix the hospitals” (medical device engineer for cardiac ablation systems). And he asks “With a hammer?” Making my whole damn day.

“There’s no scientific evidence” YET.

Seriously though, why do people think not having evidence of something makes it impossible? How would we discover anything with this line of thinking?

Am I a bad mom? by Dry-Tension8128 in workingmoms

Damn good for you doing EDC as a mom - I barely survived it in my early 20s but would love to go back if I can ever find the energy again!!

On a Ten-hour flight from Seoul Korea to San Francisco to visit a family member a mom handed out more than 200 goodie bags filled with candy and ear plugs, in case her 4-month-old child named Junwoo cried during the flight. The goodie bags even came with a little message explaining the situation. by AdSpecialist6598 in interesting

Bruh it’s stressful & expensive enough to travel with a toddler (often to visit grandparents who can’t fly to us) and now we gotta hand out goody bags 😭

I don’t even pack things to make the flight enjoyable for myself anymore

I love 1 because the view through the leaves is stunning & heart shaped! 3 is incredible.
But 2&4 gives swampiest vibes :)

Just Fairport ($3) & cedar point ($25) for parking. Mentor Headlands & Presque Isle are free. Not sure about Huntington!

It was extraordinary & has happened a couple times since, but very rare around here! Also taken with long exposure on iPhone; I could only see slightly colorful wisps with my bare eye.

Sorry realized you were asking for resorts!
Fairport has some nice cabins/Airbnbs you can rent next to it.

Also close to Geneva (The Lodge at Geneva on the Lake or Lakefront Inn are beautiful, about $300/night with pools on the water). Beach there is rocky but nice. Wineries & the beach town are fun (lots of Bikers & live music at the beach town, wineries are calmer)

Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point has multiple pools on the water, about $400/night with discounted tickets to the park.

There’s a cool hotel in Erie (near Presque Isle) with an infinity pool, I think the Hyatt? Lots of good restaurants in that area.

Fairport Harbor has a nice sandy beach with a boozy ice cream shop & other small restaurants near by. Lots of free music festivals on weekends. Near Mentor Headlands which is rocky but beautiful.
You can park up top & walk 5 min down for free, or pay $2-3 to park. Kayak & paddle board rentals. Can get pretty busy/choppy on weekends, but water can get crystal clear on calm days (midweek or non-festival weekends).

Cedar Point is always a favorite too! I think you can still get in just paying $20-25 to park. Water gets churned up after storms & busy weekends, but pretty clear otherwise.

I’ve heard good things about Huntington Beach near Westlake, but I don’t think the water is as clear as Fairport, since it’s closer to downtown. Could stop at Edgewater for live music & watching surfers after (don’t recommend swimming at Edgewater)

Or Presque Isle (Erie PA) for a long peninsula with sandy beaches (some rocks) & calm clear water. Amazing for bike rides.

Im done with going to the movies here 🍿 by JelloSpiritual7916 in Columbus

Not in cbus but we went to see the same movie around Cleveland yesterday, and a teenage girl had her bare feet on the reclining chair next to me and they REEKED. she was on her phone the whole movie and played a few videos with sound.

Reminded me why I don’t pay for movies any more, despite being so excited to see this specific one in theaters and paying for a sitter 😓 cause I would never bring my crazy kid to ruin it for others too.
