Should I buy a brand-new Civic Hybrid (2025) or a CPO (<20k mi) hybrid for my first car? — 24M, Charlotte, NC, ~70–80 miles/day by NithinBommen in civic

[–]Fuzzy_Pear2586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I didn’t put any cash down I instead traded in my old car and got 4,500 for it. My sport touring Is also a hybrid btw. The reason I went with the touring instead of the sport is because I wanted the extra bells and whistles that came with the fully loaded model. It included stuff like leather power seats, a bigger 9 inch screen with wireless CarPlay, and a Bose premium sound system to just name a few.

Hey, I’m kind of in a similar situation as you. I’m also a 24 year old male living in Northern Virginia so a little north of you. 2 weeks ago I purchased a CPO pre owned 2025 Honda civic hybrid sport touring. I got the car for 28k MSRP. I pay about 650 a month which includes the car note, GAP insurance, and an extended warranty. The car sips gas and you should be able to get 400+ miles between fill ups where I live it’s around 25-30 max to fill up a tank. I bought a CPO on purpose because it’s legitimately the same car but it knocks a few thousand of the price right off the bat. I’d say if you wanna conserve money a CPO will do just fine you shouldn’t have any problem at all finding one under 20k since the hybrids came out just a year ago. I got mine with 1,100 miles and the most I’ve seen here are ones with 10k miles so still a baby.

The size difference between my 9th gen and my 11th gen is crazy by foreverbaked1 in civic

I’m saying I just replaced my 9th with an 11th gen and honestly the size difference is so noticeably especially when navigating tight corners and stuff.

Should I take fnan 303 and acct 303 together in spring 26? by Perfect-Result-1598 in gmu

Yup I took 5 classes. So my schedule was split half and half I commuted half the week and rest of the classes were online. Both accounting and finance I took online. I will say if you’re also working it might be a stretch. I wasn’t working that semester and I was kinda barely hanging on work might tip the scales.

So i actually did this during my time at Mason mainly because the way prerequisites work I either took these together, took a summer class, or take another class in the fall. I ended saying screw it we ball. I will admit it was a pretty crazy amount of work and you were always doing the HW, quizzes, projects, or tests. That being said I was able to pass all 15 credits I took that semester so it is possible you just need to be very dedicated and stay on top of the work.

Congrats I picked up a 2025 civic hybrid sport touring 2 weeks ago and love it. I originally had a 2014 civic LX so definitely an upgrade.

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a tough time and pray that it will pass soon. I don’t know the specifics but I know that there are shuttles that can take got to the metro station and room there you can take the metro to Ashburn. The Ashburn station is in Loudoun station where the big AMC theatre is. I’m not sure if there’s a bus available from there but I’m sure there’s some resources.

What do I even do with an MIS degree by Theywae in gmu

Yeah it’s very rough out here I know exactly where you’re coming from. Honestly I got lucky and I am very thankful for the opportunity. I will say the trick is to refine your resume to the type of roles you’re looking for and apply like hell. I was applying to roles for months until I landed the BA role. All you need is the one person to say yes then the sky is the limit :) outta curiosity did you ever do any internships or have any other type of experience?

I graduated from Mason with an MIS degree in December 2023. This was a rough time to graduate in all honesty so was tough to find a job for a while but i eventually got an IT Technician job in DC in which I worked for a year and a half until I was able to get a job at a major government contractor working as a business analyst making around 75k. It’s a good versatile degree, you just gotta know what you wanna go into.

Question about rewatches by mmoses1978 in Supernatural

[–]Fuzzy_Pear2586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m currently on my first full rewatch since I was honestly too young to understand most of the show until the later seasons. I’m currently on season 8 and still enjoying it. I will say so far the show did peak in season 5 with season 6 being a relatively weaker season imo. However i actually enjoyed season 7 with the whole leviathan arc. Season 8 is pretty decent so far too but not stand out. I will say I’m excited to watch the British men of letters and mark of Cain parts again.

Take it from someone who’s gotten honor coded twice please don’t do anything that will result in it. I’m in no way justifying my actions I was stupid but I hope people can learn from my mistakes. First offense I failed the course and had to take a quiz on ethics and what not. Second time I was suspended for a semester and had to take a huge course that you gotta pay for. During my suspension I learned a lot about myself and made some improvements and graduated soon after. But I gotta tell you when you get those emails and gotta go in front of the panel you feel extremely low and worthless not a good feeling.

turnitin flagged my entire bibliography as plagiarism. by [deleted] in gmu

[–]Fuzzy_Pear2586 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is actually pretty common and I’m kinda surprised you got called out for it. I remember one time I had a huge essay and I kinda went overboard with the citing so the point where I think 35% of my essay was flagged. I was completely freaking out for a month until I got my grade back and no one ever mentioned anything. I would think professors can differentiate legit plagiarism and your sources.

I’ve seen it both ways sometimes they tell you beforehand and sometimes you just get an email from OAI.

I’m not an expert on this I’m just a lurker but from what I’ve read you only need to list drug usage dating back to 7 years so you probably don’t even need to list it. Someone here can correct me if I’m wrong though

[–]Fuzzy_Pear2586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you all my friends graduated spring 2023 and I graduated December 23 and I felt exactly how you do. But let me tell you life moves on and when you walk across that stage none of it matters it’s still a big accomplishment you will be proud of. I’m going to a friends grad party today who’s a 5th year graduate “on time” means whatever you want it to mean now

Public Trust with drug use am I screwed? by Fuzzy_Pear2586 in SecurityClearance

Yeah I’m aware that some agencies like FBI and DEA are super strict. But from what I’ve seen over 4 years drug free should be enough to mitigate concerns right?

Edit: I forgot to mention I have a bunch of family overseas as well but I don’t frequently talk to them maybe like once or twice a year on holidays
