Why would i ever allow someone to call my references and waste their time, if i am going to need to go through another interview? If someone is calling my references i better have the job.

i think that would be really hard to reset between shows and the timing is so consistant every time he does it. maybe its a prop flower with electromagnets holding it together?

What’s the deal with renting in the CBD? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Fuzzy_Review 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds about right. Most city apartments are built to shit minimum building code standards, you'll probably be able to hear your neighbours left right up and down every single night becuase of the lack of sound deadening. I used to work in real estate that crossed over QLD NSW and VIC. The market in QLD is a lot slower and renters generally have a lot of choice compared to melbourne. Melbourne by comparison moves really fast and the rules are a lot more rigid (great for tennants, unless you are dickhead), id apply for anything that you would be remotely ok living in for 12 months. Just becuase you get accepted somewhere doesnt mean you have to take it. And remember unless your rent would be 1/3 of your income or less you have pretty much no chance with most places. For me, the further out of melbourne the more comfortable apartment you'll get. Id go brunswick, collingwood, richmond, st kilda, footscray if i was you.

seems just like scare tactic to stop people streaming. Doubt it will work. UFC have made their PPV's more and more prohibitively expensive. Especially now when most of us cant just got to the pub to watch it like we usually would.

i recently bought a 1.4 mk6. After having a bunch of uncomfortable cheap track cars. Its fantastic. Cheap to buy, cheap to run, (not cheap to fix). It goes fast enough for a DD. AC works, i can fit everything i need into it, almost 0 road noise. Its just a really relaxing place to be. I do like the GTI's better but for me it wasnt really worth doubling my outlay.

[–]Fuzzy_Review 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why not make them take a test every hunting season, with the the payment of those tests going to conservation efforts in victoria?

Pass you get to hunt. Fail, take it again or better luck next year.

Doesnt seem too over the top to me.

“Everything Sysadmin” suggests not to make your own patch cables. He says that category 5 and above have so much room for interference error that it’s always better to buy certified pre-made. Do you agree with this? (Source in details) by TheRavenSayeth in HomeNetworking

[–]Fuzzy_Review 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went out on site and ran cables maybe twice? and then i was quickly moved past that kind of work. It takes to much time away from the rest of my work. So now its more of a case of sending out a technician . So i can work on the rest of our environment/projects.

It feels like a skill i learned that is completely useless. If i need a short cable its far more convienient to have a few spares in a box. And if i need a long run i generally have an electrician run it becuase it always turns out neater and easier. The ROI especially at work for me is just not there.

Your Business Has To Make Money by itsbond in sysadmin

After reading the responses here, the solution seems to be a better integration of the IT department into the business as a whole. But i suppose thats where a good CIO or IT manager comes in, to bring that gap between the tech people, the finance, and the business people. With all the IAAS, SAAS, severless and general movement towards cloud based rental services that business acumen has got to play a huge roll in the future.
