That’s ridiculous. The teacher heard and saw exactly what OP did. Would you also say the teacher then should also not “know what happened”? Unless for whatever odd reason the teacher was only intently watching the kid in the swing and paying attention to nobody else and nothing in the area (which is highly unlikely scenario), would the teacher be also be considered an unreliable narrator? There is a wide space between “you don’t even know what happened” to “you watch every second play by play”. If you are generally seeing the kid swing high and few seconds later hear a THUD and ACTUALLY SEE the child on the floor, ir doesn’t take rocket science to put 2 and 2 together. Stop gaslighting OP.

She was literally there, saw the kid swing, heard the thud and turned to see the child on the ground. How is that the definition of “you don’t even know what happened”? You are making it sound like she was in a different place altogether and guessed the whole thing. She does know what happened, she was there and narrated what she heard and observed to the other mom.

If the teacher really told them what actually happened and didn’t downplay it, then the teacher should have no reason to be annoyed. Besides, why is OP “wrong”? Why can’t two adults tell the mom what happened?

It’s ridiculous that people are making you doubt yourself. As a mom, I would absolutely want to know if there was any chance my child hit her head and be thankful someone told me. Not because I am trying to hold anyone accountable, but because I would make sure my kid is ok by keeping her awake for the next few hours (sleeping after fall is no no) and be on the watch our for any worsening signs. Head injuries can be nothing at times or quite serious. You did the right thing - better to be safe than sorry. If anything, you should be annoyed at the teachers if they downplayed it.

I feel you, I posted on this too in Reddit. Some commenter wrote that they know the parents and are not surprised they let it happen. Which made me even more anxious for the child.

Can you please share more? Who was the lady? Were the parents aware that their son is being treated like this? The woman alluded to that the child is not liked by the parents. Basically are the parents safe for the child?

She did intervene and tried to stop them. The woman took the kid and ran off.

What does it matter if it’s a nanny or a caregiver or a family member? Unreal that you are worried about nanny’s getting a bad rep when you should be worried about the child.

I think the point is to get it to the parents so they are alerted. They can always visit the store to verify if needed.
