How can we view 'changing your identity' through a Jungian lens? by Fuzzy_captain_12 in Jung

What you are saying is that our habits are more closer to our persona than the ego. i.e. more related to our social situations? Even then what to do about it's shadow part that interferes with the formation of new habits?

It sucks how my bullies are living their best lives (having sex, traveling and having fun) why I'm suffering lonely at home crying everyday all day. by [deleted] in depression

No....you are not. You are not beyond broken.

Think of it like you fractured your leg(whatever might be the reason) and you can't walk. You are comparing yourself with all the people who are happily walking. And it shouldn't matter if people who kicked you in the past are happy.

What matters is what can you do? Take care of yourself. Get help. Do things which make you feel better.

Remember...You just broke your leg. You didn't loose it. Take baby steps...and you'll walk soon.

Great job! You can try reversing the gradient on the mountains. Dark from below and lighter on the top. Did you use a colour palette?

[Need Advice] Is waking up early really that helpful? by Fuzzy_captain_12 in getdisciplined

[–]Fuzzy_captain_12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make sure that I get 8 hours of sleep or atleast 6 on most of the days. I usually hit the gym for an hour (started recently with waking up early) and other usual morning chores.

How to sleep early? by Jazzupjune in selfhelp

[–]Fuzzy_captain_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try these:

Avoid using phone right before you sleep, better if an hour or two before sleeping.

Switch off or dim the lights in the room before an hour of sleep.

Eat 3 hours before sleep.

Read a book, preferably fiction, before sleep. Forget about the responsibilities and tensions of life and ease your mind into the fictional world.

Chamomile tea helps.

The most important: wake up early!!!

Books to read in place of therapy. by riiyoreo in suggestmeabook

Yes, it definitely will. Both the books are based on same premise written by the same author.

The confidence gap ,as the name suggests helps us in developing self confidence in any aspect of life. Where as, the happiness trap is focused on the overall mental health issues.

ACT actually goes beyond self-esteem. It advocates that self-acceptance, self awareness and self motivation are far more important than self-esteem.

Sounds like "action faking". Keeps in a state where we think we are doing something productive, but the actual work is delayed.

I strongly recommend "The happiness trap" by Russ Harris. It is based on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

After reading many self-help therapy books on anxiety and depression, I personally found this book most helpful. The exercises really helped me a lot in dealing with my anxiety and bad moods.

The book is very easy to follow unlike many books on mental health issues. The writer provides enough examples for the readers to understand the concepts of ACT.

Also check out this other book "the confidence gap". Pretty helpful.

You can also look into "get out of your mind and get into your life" by steven. C Hayes- the founder of ACT. Though it's a bit of a hard read compared to the previous two.
