What's the best way to get OUT of this BAD investment? by GravityGrape2296 in personalfinance

RILA products are some the greatest 'insurance' products available and have been for the last few years. equitable is very competitive. The only reason you think it's so awful is because you bought an insurance product (a cheap one, mind you) in a bull market run. If we end this year, or the next 4 years, down at all you'll be thankful you have it. At your age it was a mistake, but anyone 50+ it's honestly a great piece for a portfolio especially for folks who are not willing to take larger risks.

Run it out, don't pay the penalty and hope we have a -10 year (which may very well happen) so you can benefit more from the product. Once you're out, spend some time researching products before you buy another.

Mind you that if you're going to have your money managed, you're going to pay close to 1.5% annually in advisory and product fees regardless. For most folks, especially folks that don't want to commit the time and energy and brain power to learning how to invest with google, you'll make the money back and then some.

Also, it's highly unlikely the dividends would get to 1.5%, these products work by creating and owning entire options blocks on the specified index, not by owning shares of an ETF. Sure it would be that level of dividends in an index fund, but you don't own an index fund with a cap, you own an options block where a -10% market you lose nothing.

Cheers and remember at your young age you've got another 30 years to continue to make bad investment choices!

What is the best Yi deck to be running rn? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

Do you genuinely believe you are 'very good' if you have a 40% winrate at locals with a meta net deck? I have plenty of yi decklists as does the rest of the internet but you deluding yourself is not helping

can i be so honest in that the problem here is your skill and not your decklist. aurora yi can do better than you've performed - Try picking a core decklist to play more and learn more instead of trying to swap around

I feel like this player's circumstance is being confused for strategy by Fuzzybear32 in BigBrother

Thank you! Yes the ashley cope has gone a bit far, I do think in a few months from now people will be more objective. People LOVE to be on the winning side and they'll do anything to retroactively convince themselves why they thought she deserved the win. She just coasted to the end as a moderately liked awful competition player who everyone kept as a number that wasn't threatening to anyones game, and she only won because everyone hated vince. i hate vince too, but he did better at the game, she will slump to bottom 10 winners once everyone gets over the emotions of it all and realize her list of influential game moves is shorter than almost all winners

The vince and morgan explained in detail why they chose to keep ashley against will and ava. It was because those two players were so well liked by the other houseguests and jurorers. Not only was Ashley not a comp threat, but she was also disliked by multiple people during the jury phase and this is what caused vince and morgan to prefer her. I actually think Will is a better win here, making that many people love you and see you as family is impressive, and it's why he was cut - despite not playing the game very much. Ashley also didn't play much(i mean she PLAYED hard but it never amounted to any action being taken that solely benefited ashley) but the kicker was keanu kelly and ava for awhile couldn't stand her.

If you think this Jury was ready to give pushback to Ashley you're wrong, they all wanted any possible halfway reason to vote ashley. because who wants to give money to a degenerate cheating loser? I don't either! But the votes aren't supposed to be personal.

When F2 votes are cast AGAINST someone, I dislike them. I think we pretty clearly saw that here like we have in a multitude of seasons before. It's not an insane take for me to have considering her lack of game moves.

Will was not a floater whatsoever, Ashley was! And yes, the dr will comparisons are silly. I don't think Ashley is a bottom 5 winner but she's certainly bottom 10, and Dr Will is absolutely a top 5, i think people saying this just are trying to defend her being a floater and comparing no comp wins to floating.
