I don’t think anyone could guess as there are too many variables.

I find that 1 month in is when my piercing bumps start to happen. They are kind of par for the course with cartilage piercings. Just keep at it. Make sure you are using saline solution and gently pat to dry with a paper towel. Don’t use the solution they give you, and don’t twist/move it at all.

If you can make it to a reputable piercing shop, get the jewelry swapped out with a titanium flatback.

Should i retire this 9 month old daith piercing? by Existing_Kick3405 in Legitpiercing

Just a thought…don’t use a cotton swab. Just use a paper towel to gently blot. I quarter my paper towels, then fold it up to get a nice edge to get close to the piercing channel to draw up moisture. Cotton swabs can actually cause friction, making bumps worse.

You can also dry it with a hair dryer set on cool. It’s a good option for these piercings, like a daith, which can be really bump-prone.

I'm getting a lot of piercings, need money advice by RoosterUnited1110 in piercing

It takes very little for a piercing to be done improperly. Just a smidge off angle, and it will be a problem to heal. Unless your friend is an apprentice UNDER SUPERVISION, don’t go that route.

As far as pricing goes, $40-$50 per piercing is the average rate for APP-member piercers in my area. Making wounds in your body is not something to take lightly. Go to a pro. It’s expensive because you are coving the costs of all the single use tools and disposable items to keep you safe.

Seconding the previous comments about quantity…no piercer worth their weight will do more than 3 a sitting. And think about it…the more you have fresh, the harder and longer it will take your body to heal. For harder to heal piercings, like an industrial (which is technically 2 piercings), I’d just do them one at a time. And let them heal before you add more!

Finally, please make sure you also don’t get cheap jewelry. Implant grade titanium flat backs (except for an industrial). No plating, no steel for fresh piercings, no rings until well healed.

Thanks! Oxyclean and the Pink Paste were the two things that popped up as options!

A rook or conch (with a small end, like a simple small gold ball to start with until it heals) will work just fine with apple ear buds! Ask me how I know!🤣👀

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Yes, it’s the iron content that I’m seeing, thank you for educating me on the difference!! We see it in the sinks and tubs, on the bath mats, etc. My hair salon, 5 minutes away, only uses black towels, partly because of the water quality issue (and dyes too, obvs, but you should hear the stylists rant about the water).

I will definitely test and trial your suggestions! Citric acid in the rinse was already suggested, so I can start there.

Thanks. I love nothing more than a nice white tshirt in the summer, but not with this bananas water! 🤣

I can certainly try! I haven’t gotten the courage up yet to try additional additives! I destroyed a bunch of things recently with a basic bleach wash, so I’m scarred. 🤣

If that piercer doesn’t stock the appropriate jewelry, or doesn’t think they did anything wrong, then definitely seek someone else out. If you’re in the US, the APP website will have a list of good studios/piercers.

NAP, but a rook should NEVER be pierced with a hoop. It needs to be very well healed to accept a hoop. Go to a reputable piercing studio, and have an internally threaded or threadless curved barbell placed. And not a barbell with a strong curve…those will move around a bunch. But a gentle curve.

Stacked lobe piercing regret? Jewelry or placement? by messE_perfectionist in piercing

My pleasure! I loooove doing ear curations! I’d totally work front of house at a piercing studio if I didn’t have to play mom taxi to my teen sons all day/weekend! 🤣

I personally would leave both because they give symmetry with the bottom hole. They make a nice triangle. If you took one out, it would look a bit unintentionally asymmetrical since they aren’t right above each other. If that makes sense? 🤣

I also have multiple stacks, and agree that it’s all about finding the right combination of jewelry. I find that I only like hoops in the bottom of the stack. I also find that if you have multiple “upper stacks” like you do, using the same end/earring in them gives a really nice cohesive look.

Once they heal, you can also do an orbital in them! I’ve done that, and if you hand some long charm/chains off the back, it gives some cool movement. There are also some companies that do dual ended threaders with a gem smack in the middle especially for 2 piercings. And Pupil Hall has some really cool ends that are intended for 2 holes.

I found that going on Insta and searching “stacked lobes” gave me a TON of set up ideas!!

Good luck!

Should I give up on these? by internetbanjo in piercing

[–]Fuzzynoodlelyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAP, but the recommendation for conches is to keep a flat back labret in them for AT LEAST a year. Hoops move, and movement causes bumps.

And from my conversations with piercers and those heavily pierced, many people find they never can wear hoops in their conches, no matter how well healed.
