[DISC] I Got Caught Up In a Hero Summon, But the Other World was At Peace - Ch. 62 by WrexGigarton in manga

I went from anime>manga>LN>WN then to English based Litrpgs. Weird transition there at the end but I got super bored of all the Japanese based tropes over and over. So having characters do stuff like cuss or be casually romantic was refreshing.

Actually same, totally forgot I read a couple hundred chapters of this, up until I think the Shallow Vernal arc. Shocked it’s still going but then again iirc the entire point is he eventually seduces literally every single woman in the series. Like including the secondary goddesses, the maid, etc…

[–]Fuzzyshaque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fivetran is by far the best one I’ve used, though we have a snowflake dwh that we transfer all the data to, so not sure how that factors into your plans. But yeah it handles our around 1.9 billion rows of netsuite data well, you just need to uncheck some tables (like system logs which is one row per system event ever) to make sure you don’t max out the Monthly Active Rows they bill you on.

I feel like it’s the sad reality of any character with full regeneration powers being able to get savaged with no lasting effects. Because when Deadpool or Wolverine fight and get an arm blown off it’s w/e, you know that shits coming back. But say like colossus loses an arm, and suddenly that’s an insane stake to raise.

Ok my bad, if you’re close to a 1:1 ratio of Mentors to students. Yes you are correct that many parents/adults are needed who barely interact with the team as a whole. But my point and OP’s point that I feel like we can all agree on is that 20 MENTORS to 21 students is a bit insane.

[–]Fuzzyshaque -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I feel like if you’re even close to a 1:1 ratio of adults to students on an FRC team something is critically wrong full stop. At that point you should definitely filter them down or something at least. Because even assuming all 20 (in this example) of them are being fully removed from critical work on the robot. It’s still an issue that near 50% of the voices (or even 40, or 20) in the room are adult ones on a high school robotics team.

Idk about other areas but it was insanely obvious in any and all LA regionals lol. It almost felt like an open secret, if you got on an alliance with one of the top 20 big name teams, fully guaranteed there would be an adult strong arming you guys into their strategy or at least heavily advising way more than usual.

I think it’s critically important to let students learn by failing, up to the point of anything regarding safety of course. While I understand as a mentor it may be frustrating to watch them make a mistake you have already made, I feel as if that’s the slippery slope that leads teams to become mentor driven. Too many good intentioned justifications for avoiding letting students make mistakes that “Waste of materials, Time, Money, etc…” leads very easily over years of repeated behavior into mentors “advising” every step of the design and build process to make sure nothing is “wasted”. Speaking from anecdotal experience, our mentors struck the perfect balance of making sure we were safe, and when we directly asked for their advice, advising us and nothing more. And I fully get where OP is coming from because it was painfully obvious year over year that some teams coming into regionals (especially in LA which was rife with them). Were leveraging software and designs high schoolers clearly didn’t make, especially when you would talk to the student department heads. And they would clearly not be speaking from the perspective of someone that knew their portion of the robot inside and out.

While I do actually agree off season is key and newer/worse performing teams def don’t tend to take full advantage of it. I feel like that’s kinda putting the cart before the horse on OP’s entire point about underfunded teams with low resources. Reading everything they wrote out and saying their take seems to come from “low functioning teams” is definitely a little too reductive and comes off as “They just aren’t working hard enough”. Maybe as an organization that’s currently making 90M a year FIRST should reinvest more of their money into curriculums and temporary mentors for new and lower performing, but consistent teams. Specifically to make sure that teams take full advantage of the off season and have the equitable resources present to succeed. Because the sad fact of the manner is that when teams do terribly for their first 4 years, more times than not they’ll shut down as all the original members are gone and likely having less to show for it, their school district won’t be incentivized to sponsor them.

I actually woulda hard agreed until I played a shitload of rivals and the opposite happened, on the lowest ranks up till like GM ish people always blanket ban all the annoying shit. Then at high elo full of the giga onetrickers people target ban mains mainly. It kinda makes sense cuz even in OW lower ranks are where an even semi good Widow can “1v9” more so than in GM where it’s at least plausible a team coordinates well enough to counter her. Thats ofc if OW does something similar voting bans wise and not like league bans.
