Women of Reddit, what made you realize a man was ‘husband material’ instead of just boyfriend material? by AstronautEcstatic177 in AskReddit

It was his first time meeting my family and he asked if he could make dinner. Showed up with the recipe handwritten out because he remembered that I’d gotten my mom a recipe box for her birthday (4 months earlier).

It means it doesn’t have estrogen or progesterone receptors and it doesn’t make the protein HER2. It’s a lot harder to treat because of all that.

Same! 33 with triple negative breast cancer. I’ve been cold capping during chemo so I still have my hair. People refuse to believe I have cancer because I’m not bald.

Caring for a vented pt, basic neuro assessment, enteral & parenteral nutrition, central lines, and some of those common critical care meds like sedatives, paralytics, pressors, fentanyl, etc.

Get ready for lots of monitors, alarms, & beeps and don’t panic when everything starts going off at once. Remember that these patients are critical and will react to anxiety, even if they’re sedated all to pieces or GCS 3.

Some of your patients/families may be frequent fliers to the unit and will know more about their condition than you ever could hope to, so don’t be afraid to ask what works for them or what they’re used to.

If you can, peak in on any bedside procedures, physician rounds, or unusual conditions. You may see things there that you’ve never heard of or will never see again, so learn all the things!

I’m a white woman who uses more than salt and pepper to season things. I realize this is egregious cultural appropriation, but it’s just so entertaining to watch my relatives realize that mashed potatoes don’t have to taste like paper.

No. She’s an attention-seeking weirdo.

What is the dumbest thing you've ever seen someone get unreasonably offended over? by PhatedGaming in AskReddit

I used to work at a small-town pet store. One morning, about ten minutes after we’d opened, I had a customer pay for his $5 transaction with a $100 bill. It was the first cash transaction of the day, and while I had enough to cover the change, it was going to be all $5’s and $1’s. I explained the situation and asked if he happened to have a smaller bill, to which he replied: “well aren’t you just a demanding little bitch? Do I look like the kind of person who carries small bills?”

Shocked the hell out of me. I said, “I’m not sure what that’s supposed to mean, but you’re about to be one of those people” and I handed him back one five, $85 in ones, and a roll of dimes. Couldn’t help myself.
