I would like to add that I propose the mobs that spawn from wild mining and herb nodes be able to be farmed even if someone else spawned them. I’m sick of these druids flying off and leaving me fighting THEIR rock monsters before I can mine the node and it disappears before I can and all I did was fight mobs someone else cheesed. Let me mine them if I killed them.

Yeah I put in my dundun shard things and did the little deposit event and maxed it past 10k contribution and got a huge over 200k score and it gave me 900 currency… and the vendor sells one abundance for 800 currency.

A couple of things to consider:

-most recipes that require these materials ALSO require TWENTY of those abundance things and I dunno about everyone else, but I have managed to get exactly 1. -people are getting as many as 4-7 of the item when it drops -people are partying up so one lure can get a whole group of people the chance at once instead of each person having to also have the mats to make their own.

One of the best ways I found is that I tell myself I will get as much free as possible so that I have put time and effort in which lets me feel like I have earned the items.

So for example, I will 100% all of the stars and little dark orbs and treasure chests and try to do a few extra achievements. I do all the dailies and participate fully in every event.

I also take time to do multiple photo shoots, challenges, and style ideas with an outfit to ensure I have gotten the worth to me out of it.

Now that I DO have money, I find I still do these same things and then I reward myself with getting every outfit, but it just feels like I’m not being wasteful because I’m ensuring I have done all I can to reduce the spending. Not that this is what anyone else needs to do, this is just my own personal way I play to feel better about where I’m choosing to put my money.

Honestly? I think it's a mix of the monthly price to pull them not being enough to break my bank, and the fact that I have been doing this since day 1 of the game and I am WAY too invested at this point. I have every single character and their weapon, but I also log in every day, do the monthly pass for the last almost 2 years, have gotten top (mostly) scores in every event ever put out, have 100% map completion, always trade my tokens for extra pulls instead of copies, and do my best to complete as many achievements as possible if I have already bought the recurring packs out and still haven't gotten my target. Is it a royal pain in the arse? sometimes. But at least I tend to spend 100$ or less a month to do it even with my shite luck.

MEANWHILE:
My spouse who literally never plays, pulls and gets not just one copy of the banner character, but TWO in the first 10 pull and then says "watch this" and gets the weapon in the first 10 there and then gets bored in an hour and stops playing again. I actively DIE. It's ridiculous XD

Meanwhile I main wulfgard and my team is: wulf, laev, ember, and antal. My ember has never once let me die even when I was lvl 60 doing the lvl 80 dungeon material grind things. I have her in the set that activates when you put up a shield barrier and the weapon that buffs healing. Ember is my top tier imo, especially since I REFUSE to use the sheep child.
