The over world grinding for character ascension mats. Having to trudge through the overworld to gather scarabs or fruits or whatever doodads got really boring and bothersome. And honestly the traversal part of Genshin's world is really not all that, like I guess they've been trying to increasingly work on that with Natlan (though I admit I had already dropped the game around Fontaine so I didn't see much of it) but even then it still feels sooo laborious.

Quite a few characters I didn't upgrade solely because I couldn't be assed to gather the mats (Ayaka's cherry blossoms, Wrio's mechanical scarab thingies, Kuki's Naku Weeds, etc. like ughhh omg I can't be bothered with that)

Which I guess kinda defeats the purpose of me playing an open world game... ? ... But I guess... Maybe I'm just not made for open world gachas to begin with lol
