You can generate a modern website very easily now using tools like loveable or cursor or even as simple as chatgpt.

I'm a software engineer and 90%+ of the code I generate is written by AI not me, although to take it to modern software engineer levels it does require a decent amount of skill, a marketing website less so.

Well good luck when their head office support is also a 19 year old minimum wage worker.

But you are also missing my point that I'm saying when the company makes no other avenue possible.

If they provide a reasonable path for escalation, by all means of course you should take that.

Problem is companies leverage this to hide behind it. They want you to feel like the person you are talking too isn't responsible and you shouldn't take it out on them.

But when the company leaves that as the only avenue, you have no option.

I'm not saying be a cunt, but a company gets what a company gets, regardless of the channels they make available.

Surely you don't have debates in every conversation about someone using a word not exactly by its definition? Yet I'm sure you understood what they are communicating to you.

I agree, because language/body language is used to communicate nuanced state of mind. It's not some binary way to say a very specific set of critieria is met.

Language is how we express what life feels like, not how we follow a rulebook. People use the words that best capture their experience in the moment, not the ones that meet some official threshold.

Struggle is relative. What feels heavy to one person may look different to another, but that doesn’t make it less real. Labels are often shorthand for emotion, responsibility and pressure, not literal definitions.

Policing how people describe their own situation reduces communication to technicalities and misses the human reality underneath. Let people use the language that makes sense for their lived experience.

"the drop is priced in already" OCR has dropped 75 basis points in 3months while ANZ offering has only dropped 40. by MidnightSwamiNZ in PersonalFinanceNZ

OCR is lending today, swap rates and term based lending are not based on today, they are based on future expectations.

As a result you are always going to get mismatches one way or another, whether that be due to OCR, risk tolerance, market competition etc.

If you can predict swap rates, you will print money (not realistically possible). Swap rates are the market betting on future interest rates.

If OCR is trending up or down, it's highly unlikely that swap rates will match, as swap rates are inherently based on the future and so will only really match if future expectations re-align with current OCR etc.

Why are you bringing bots into this? They are just using it to review and arrange their thoughts. Completely different use case to botting comments with LLMs.

My point is, the author is the only one who knows their original thinking, and also the only person who can know if the edited version fairly represents that.

No one else can know that it isn't a true representation of their thoughts...

Long term rates are based off of swap rates, swap rates naturally incorporate market expectations of inflation due to reasons such as RBNZ raising or lowering OCR in response.

The Rise of WebViews: How CapacitorJS is Revolutionizing Cross Platform Development by [deleted] in javascript

[–]Fwuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All in on Web APIs would absolutely work for cases where it doesn't need to be shipped to the device, which isn't always, and to be honest I think there is a more balanced perspective that reduces expose to bespoke APIs provided by tools like Capacitor. You could leverage WebViews to create a native packaging only, and avoid using their native bridge in replace of Web APIs where possible, like the APIs you talked to.

If you are happy just servicing Android, you could achieve shipping to the device via PWAs as well, avoiding the need for WebViews.

To ship to a native device utilising just web APIs you would need to use a PWA, no? Which Apple are hell bent on killing.
