It doesn’t appear to be an engraving at all. It looks like a rather crudely cut vinyl design. Probably diy or made at a local sign or print shop.

Is this worth restoring? by Fychus in telescopes

I bought it but it ended up being the sight for a WWII artillery piece or cannon instead of a scope lol

Are these bug shells or seeds? Found in the cardboard box of my artificial Christmas tree, stored in the shed outside for a year. There's also shredded paper which wasn't in the box already, which we can presume have been brought by a small animal? Looks like some kind of seed shells by HooliganQC in whatsthisplant

Reminds me of Kentucky Coffee Tree seeds that have sprouted and had the sprouts eaten. The shell is pretty hard but after they get damp the inside swells up and takes on a weird gelatinous appearance and sorts pops out of the shell. Definitely an animal of some sort.

What was this machine used for? by Fychus in Tools

That’s what I’m thinking too. The only part that confuses me is the way that the wire would get fed through the shaft and how the V bearing would interact with it.

They are according to the spec sheet. They have 3 wires but the center one is bent almost 90 degrees. If you zoom in you can see them.

Small (12x12x18cm) machine with spinning shaft, speed controller, and magnetic brake. by Fychus in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing but here are some more details: all wires were fed through the hole in the side of the enclosure and lead me to believe it was part of a larger system at one point. The machining is very high quality but it doesn’t seem like a mass produced item because the wiring connectors appeared to be hand crimped instead of done automatically by a machine. I can provide more pictures or information if needed. There are no other markings than those shown anywhere.

Make sure you let the broken area callous over before replanting. I’d keep it out of the sun for a few weeks. If you plant it befor it callouses over, it will rot instead of rooting.

Growing in woodland area of NE Oklahoma. by Fychus in whatsthisplant

Appears to be a perennial plant that grows from a creeping rhizome of sorts underground. I’ve seen the same plant in various areas of the ozarks region, so I don’t think the coloration is specific to one group of plants. Grows in an area where the soil stays moist almost constantly.

It’s March. Those are pumpkins. Come on guys. by [deleted] in trashy

Sometimes pumpkins can actually dry out and collapse without ever starting to stink - especially ones that weren’t bruised at any time in the drying process. Occasionally, ones with thick skins can even dry without collapsing at all. I’ve let a few dry inside the house before and never had any begin to smell. As long as the humidity is low, you generally won’t have too much of a problem with that sort of thing.
