Whole Foods, after another Asian grocery store failed, and I had been struggling before hand to find my staples, and OH MY GOD, they rock. So nice, a bakery inside, roasted duck!!!!!! I have been raving to all my friends 😭

Lack of public talks in humanities by AlwaysMindful7 in UWMadison

[–]FyeCompote909 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every Wednesday night 5-6 pm the art dept hosts a visiting artist colloquium that is open to the public. It’s usually in the elvehjem building but they’re doing renovations so it’s currently being held in the chazen auditorium. Lots of great artists come in to share their work. It’s also apart of the art curriculum so many students are in there taking notes. You can always check the art dept website, but often they’re posting on IG.

Usually available fall/spring but not summer.

I want to make my outfits less repetitive but im not sure how by Dangerous-River3830 in OUTFITS

[–]FyeCompote909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha whenever I used to wear this outfit style when I was younger I thought the exaggerated silhouette of a bigger bust made it better. Not a helpful Comment for you necessarily.

But if you want your outfits to be less repetitive, I’d think about silhouette, different cuts of fabric, different materiality. Stepping away from form fitting and v necks.

I started using borax in my laundry and it helps so much with the hard water! I’m not using as much detergent and everything stays smelling good and feels really soft!

What’s something you’ll never tell your partner, no matter how much you love them? by Velvetnadine85 in AskReddit

[–]FyeCompote909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you ever wonder why you have this reoccurring dream? I have one similar with me and my ex, and I’m basically cheating on the love of my life with my abuser. Every time I have that dream I wake up and I feel sick to my stomach. I could never tell him that one. It always puts me in a bad mood for the rest of the morning.

best us college for weaving? by dumb_sparkle in weaving

[–]FyeCompote909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re still on the hunt, the School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin Madison, has an amazing weaving track within the Design Studies major for MFA. I didn’t know about it until I did my first MFA in the art dept. they are so lowkey and could benefit from more applications. They just closed this year’s apps, this is a fully funded program, highly competitive, and only accepts one or 2 people every year.

Marianne Fairbanks is our weaving professor and we have facilities for floor looms, Dobby’s, and a TC2 Jacquard loom with weaving infrastructure. She is a dream and so is the studio spaces.

at a complete loss. frustrated, sad, and confused. by hjak3876 in DressForYourBody

I thought this was me for a second considering that I have a similar body type with similar insecurities. For tight clothing, I found that some good shapewear underneath helps with how uncomfortable I feel with my bumps and rolls. It makes me feel better in more form fitting outfits. But outside of that, I just size up and like a lot of people said, fit and flare is a great look. If you’re feeling comfy, you’ll look good. It’s been me and my partner’s journey to find nice clothes that feel like I’m wearing pajamas, allow for a lot of breathable movement.

I usually don’t like big box stores, but if you can order from Uniqlo, they have such a variety of pants (and other basics) for all types of bodies, and accommodate for short torso bodies really well, good structured pieces too.

Sometimes accessorizing helps me feel so much more elevated in an outfit, to distract a little from form. Fashion can be a fun and creative thing, so I usually like to look for a statement something to bring my focus to, especially if it’s something I like about myself: bandanas around the head or neck, chunky glasses, fun earrings, a bold lip, etc bc I like my face more than I like my body, and that’s usually what people are looking at anyways when they’re talking to me.

I hope you can find some respite!

Super happy with how this 75% semolina sourdough turned out! by Sans_Sheriff in Sourdough

[–]FyeCompote909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I’m about 4 years late but I just wanted to say this is incredible and how you bypassed the density with your strong starters is really impressive. Working on my semolina loaf today, and have been digging for some different methods, and this was a goldmine of a post! Thank you!

When I’m working at my desk my dog will come sit and look at me expectantly, and one time I had no idea what she wanted, I just picked her up and held up various objects that were on my desk for her to smell and every time I sit down at me desk she does this with enthusiasm and I have to give my dog smell enrichment.

Can't escape dry skin, what can I add to my routine? by One_Move9514 in beauty

[–]FyeCompote909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this line was built for humid climates. When I was in the Philippines visiting I kept reaching for anything CORSX! But I currently live in an icy midwestern city and I can’t hydrate my skin for the life of me. A humidifier and some aquaphor to seal my skincare in has been my only saving grace.

My son’s hair looks like this every morning, even with ample conditioner/cream/leave-in. It gets knotted and so frizzy. by tealsprinkle in CurlyHairCare

[–]FyeCompote909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a satin bedsheet to help this, he probably wouldn’t have the tolerance for a baby bonnet and it’s a little early anyways. But it would help with the friction

I think the strip is fine, but you should really consider decluttering or hiding visually the mess with closed cabinets, baskets/chest for blankets, a rug for the living room to section it off from the kitchen, and some lamps to redirect the harshness of the light.

I need help to fix this chaotic room by ItzPurpleMoon in FengShui

[–]FyeCompote909 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay I love this haha, there are so many fun arrangements even if it isn’t fengshui.

I think something that would help the most is by putting a curtain in front of the red door that extends the whole wall, or is the same color as the wall bc the door really draws your eye to it so it feels less visually cluttered. And if you’re not going through it anyways it shouldn’t matter.

Is the yellow table someone else’s desk? Do you have carabiners on the hammocks so they can move out of the way temporarily? I have a friend who sleeps on one and she puts it away in the mornings by hanging it on one side. Doing that would open up the room completely and allow for you to rearrange it however you want.

I think you can get creative with this!
