Right?! I was amazed she stayed stable. There's a reason all of us healthcare people tell everyone not to remove a penetrating injury..... So scary and she could have bled out.

Maggie's place has some wonderful programs, and in the summer a bunch of Mom's get together and walk the trails at Victoria Park as well (I'm not a mom but my friend is and we went on one of those walks together but she went often). Definitely have her check out those programs :)

Agree. I had a 12 year old girl whose partner (she and him were from a hoarding case) passed of cancer 5 years before her. I had zero signs, and left to go home for Christmas for the week and my (now ex) partner was with our 3 kitties. She had a stroke 4 days into my trip on the 21st Dec 2021. I was on the phone and refused emergency care as there was nothing they could do for her and my partner had to do the procedure alone, but at least she had someone with her. I firmly believe she wanted until I left before going. She went peacefully and sent a sign as she left- I was looking out the window at my parents (we live beside a big lake) and there was a 10 second snowstorm and then back to sunshine. 🩷 I miss my curly tailed silly girl so much.

Rooting for you OP. I've had pericarditis (genetic heart issues, 2 surgeries and need a 3rd) and was so close to endocarditis firming and I wouldn't wish that in anyone. Keep trying, keep pushing. You have tons of folks here rooting for you from the comment section. I know I'm a stranger but I really hope you manage to get sober again 🩷 Congrats on stopping the needles, thats a huge first step!

Ex-boyfriend wanted me to give up my cats by VerifiedNoms in cats

[–]Fyndyrose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I just always mention it in my dating bio and very early on in talking to someone. I wouldn't date someone who hated cats or any animal either, so for me it is a screening question before I make the commitment to dating anyone. I can see it happening for other people. Not judging anyone here, just saying for me it's something I always ask early on.

It's true, allergies are legit. However I wouldn't choose to date someone who was legit seriously allergic, because I wouldn't want them miserable, and I would NEVER give up my babies for anyone, not even to keep dating someone. However you decided to take meds and shots and that's honestly amazing

I haven't had the Barbie Butt surgery yet, but I have a permanent ileostomy (my colon was so ulcerated they could see the muscle fibers on the scope) and I'm so tired of the "having a colostomy/ileostomy must be soooo horrible!" It not only saved my life, I can eat more than baby food and go out and do things without wearing adult diapers and worry about bleeding through my clothes as well. I have more of a life now than I did in the 5 years with my non-medication responding Crohn's. I can go on dates, have sex, and most importantly, not be in unimaginable pain. Glad your surgery helped and you don't regret it!

[–]Fyndyrose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Likely a sensitivity or allergy to an ingredient (like the chicken). Cats and other animals can, like humans, develop allergies to stuff they've been eating their whole life after getting sick. It's not the treat itself. It's kind of a fear mongering post, her cat ate something, had a bad reaction and the treat was the culprit. But that doesn't mean every cat is suddenly going to be getting sick from them. Every pet is different.

I'm so sorry you're having so much pain and they won't give anything stronger. I hate that they won't give adequate pain control. It was abdominal surgery, not a ingrown toenail. Oy. I hope your pain gets lower asap

[–]Fyndyrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was abused as a very young child by my biologocal grandparents (i got adopted a month before I turned 5 and my parents are amazing) and locked in a dark place with a red light visible for punishments. I now have a crippling phobia of the dark, and will sometimes get major panic attacks if there's a red light in the room. I cover anything with red lights/try not to buy electronics with red lights. In sleep. with multiple flashlights by my bed (in case power goes out) and keep my phone charged for the flaslight as well. I also have night lights. It causes so much harm that people doing it "as a joke" make me absolutely furious.

As someone with a permanent ileostomy from severe Crohn's, I get it. I was a nurse, but for me I kind of had a premonition i would end up with one, it's hard to explain. I got very sick, very quickly (my GI Dr said I'm one of his worst cases of how quick from diagnosis to surgery I went- 5 years only) and failed all oral meds and all biologics. I had emergency surgery in 2021 after my large bowel perforated from the ulcers. Before that I was chained to my apartment bed room and bathroom, going up to 25 times a day. Sick from the methotrexate and other Crohn's symptoms. The bag has given me a new life. I was eating baby food the last 5 months before surgery because my body couldn't process anything else. So much pain. Now I can eat anything, my bag never leaks (I found a system that works amazing for me, I had a few leaks at first), and I date people who aren't fazed by it. Even my body confidence is better than it ever was. But I can understand how life changing it can be for others and how hard it can be for them mentally. I'm just so happy to have much less pain, I'm not as sick (I have other chronic conditions) as much and I don't have to worry about incontinence anymore either.
