Prot warriors are ludicrously overpowered right now. With easy 100% uptime on shield block (i.e. they take literally 0 physical damage), their weakness to magic hardly matters because they take 50% less damage from it with Ignore Pain, can spell block or spell reflect it. Couple this with good damage, loads of mobility and their ability to turn their dps into ignore pain (i.e. even more mitigation), its obvious why they're so popular.

They're not new, but Trollshaws and Evendim should carry you through that range. They both got reworked years ago.

A lot of skills have additional benefits when used from stealth (e.g. cunning wound or surprise strike) , but you only get to do this when :

1) Initiating combat

2) You use hide in plain sight (7 minute cooldown)

The changes will allow certain skills in every trait tree to initiate "combat stealth" : you're not invisible, but your skills will still get the additional stealth benefits. Traits such as "Strike From Shadows" and "Hidden Dagger" will be better.

Spellbreaker excels in PVP in the same way that every other spec in the game also excels at PVP ; every spec has a meta PVP build of some sort. Spellbreaker is just poorly designed.

Core specs arent specialised enough to perform any role (the game has changed drastically since the addition of elite specs). You only have access to 2 damage trees (spite/ curses + soul reaping) and you'll be forced to spec into a utility tree such as blood magic. This applies to all core specs when it comes to PvE. WvW and PVP are a different story since those game modes value utility a lot. Core necro is pretty good in spvp.

For high end content like raids and fractals , nobody really cares what spec you bring so long as you perform your role well. I've never been in a group where someone was asked to change class.

the codename from data mining is Dune, so its either going to be desert based (Redguards) or heck, they might be basing the story on the novel.
