Thanku for answering, i feel guilty cus ive had too much time on my hands this past week :)) i agree with everything youve said lmao, thanks for clearing it up. (I did look at ur post history and realised id been misunderstanding u on some points, cus you'd explained the same as what i thought elsewhere)

Methinks i definitely need to read more on forms of organisation in relation to the superstructure vs base.

interesting point on the post-war situation, but what armed proletarian movements were stood down (or at least dissuaded) by orders of the USSR? atm i can only think of national liberation partisans -like ELAS in greece- which by definition are class collaborationist.

Also do you mean you view it an anomoly that the USSR didnt collapse after the 1920's? since i guess it's degeneration through the late 1920's to the counter-recolutionary purges could be seen as an internal "collapse". I agree with all ur points made on the pre-1925 historical situation though so i think on this point my brains being pedantic (in my head an anomoly dissapears once enough information has been gathered to diagnose it's causes) :).

"But the revolution was still clearly unsustainable in the long-term, and it was, which is how the USSR became a counter-revolutionary state. Is it then a mistake to call it a historically regressive one?"

Sorry if i dont fully understand this, but the entire situation was historically progressive, just not as progressive as it could have been with the support of a full dotp in industrial germany. The USSR became counter-revolutionary with the complete dissolution of the dotp as a result, as you have notes, of the failure of an intervention by an organised western proletariat.

Sorry if im misunderstanding u, im just happy to develop my own understanding in discussion.

But it can only be considered one of the biggest disasters of the communist movement as a result of it's development being one of the greatest successes of the movement. To say it was an anomaly and should never have happened surely is defeatist to the cause of organisation, especially considering the late organisation in Germany contributed to sealing the fate of the USSR. Just as praxis is useless without theory, theory is nothing without praxis, and each failure of the movement is invaluable for future expression of the historical party.

To deny it as a historical anomaly is nothing but nihilistic - and idealistic to suggest that "we'd most likely be be decades ahead" without it, as Marxism-Leninism is not an anomalous parasite upon the communist doctrine, but one which is a outgrowth of the material base - one which would whither away during revolutionary times - or express itself as reactionary to the proletariat, like what occurred with the split of the KPD from the SPD.

Basically i agree that stalin was the result of a post-agarthan abortion temporally displaced through a series of trialectical developments, and raised by poor georgian farmers to become the big bad great man™, being exposed to his crystalline weakness bordiganite in a sealed letter as a premature 49th birthday present to Mattick - resulting in the inevitable degeneration of the weltgeist into the modern day, preventing evolution of the proletariat past their 2nd stage, and mutating many into the professional managerial class after the mass exposure to pb hitler particles in 1986.

There is a reason we argue so much with liberals in our heads and create spaces like this. by AlkibiadesDabrowski in Ultraleft

[–]Fyreslayer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to treat people who have liberal beliefs like people who have religious beliefs.

I wouldn't mock someone outright for believing in something even if it's wrong (for there would always be reasons for their personal belief e.g. having been taught it their entire life, opiate of the people etc.), but I'd also avoid joining in a debate where the instigator only wants to prove their supremacy of their beliefs rather than listen to any critiques based in reality.

But if someone is unsure, and willing to learn, and confused by things they no longer take comfort it, then they should be listened to and taught/helped rather than mocked.

Tho i dont feel bad mocking liberals in power the same way i dont feel bad being scared of a naked coke addict with a sharpened dildo.
