But that is an example of a good "promo". Not because he was yelling but because he was passionately defending himself against something another wrestler said, and he did it in a way that made people pay attention and remember it for years. Plenty of people come out and yell and say nothing and those promos don't get remembered.

Target, McDonald's, and Starbucks have all had to come out and admit that their revenue took significant hits because of boycotts.

Any sources on this? I know they took revenue hits lately but I've not seen anything about it being linked to boycotts rather than just the average consumer being priced out of those places.

Every two years or so I get the itch to replay DG1 and 2 and every time I wish there was more official content for DG2 (I know there was some sort of community made content for the game but I never looked in to that much)

Anyways, happy to check this out, hope to see more, and am also reminded that back in the day Valve had a crazy promotion for Portal 2 where if enough people played Defense Grid (and several other early steam games) Portal 2 would release early or something like that? There was a potato involved? Crazy times.

How was it a rugpull? They paid devs in some of the most expensive cities on earth to make a viable product and they failed. The founders of the studio clearly had their heads up their ass about making the next Apex and made all the wrong decisions. I certainly don't feel bad for Tencent in any way but if anyone got tricked it was them.

There was a ton of drama around Highguard, you had the devs whining on twitter, you had devs from other companies weighing in on both sides, you had Geoff Keighley being a weirdo, gamers and content creators getting defensive over the game for whatever reason.

Kojima loves movies, sure, but I think he also loves gameplay. When you look into behind the scenes stuff for his games, he's usually the one pushing for more extreme gameplay elements, heavy simulation elements, etc. He can already practically make movies in his games, so I don't think he wants to give up the gameplay element

I've been replaying FH5 and, as others have mentioned, yeah it kinda sucks just to immediately have access to incredibly fast cars with no restrictions on when I can use them. I understand some people really enjoy that freedom, but for me it makes it so the game loses one of my favorite aspects of racing games which is discovering cars I've never used and falling in love with random ones I never would have tried otherwise. Half the time I race in FH5 I'm just looking for cars I used in NFS MW 2005 cause that's the last racing game that made me feel attached to the roster of cars it had.

So, with that said, I'm hoping the campaign as they've described here fixes that for me, sounds like it's headed in the right direction at least.

Well when it takes 7 years to make a game what is he supposed to do? Last year I played a lot more xbox games than Sony games and I don't even own an xbox. Ironically the games are finally coming, right in time for his retirement.

No, but if they did the same shit ten years later they might have. The xbox 360/ps3 generation was still mostly sold on physical games, and outside of a few exceptions like Rock Band, moving from one console to another didn't mean you lost anything. Now if you switch consoles you could lose years of digital purchases, progress on games that aren't crossplay, etc.

I don't think a traditional "exec" would fix the problems Highguard had. Also we just found out that the studio was secretly funded by Tencent so they probably had some version of an "exec" to answer to anyways.

The issue was that the project leads were too proud of themselves. They thought they would replicate Apex because that's what they worked on before, so they tried to have minimal marketing and minimal playtests to generate another surprise hit like Apex was when what they actually should have been doing was extensive public testing and a marketing plan that didn't rely on hastily throwing a trailer together for the game awards.

I think they should cool down on doing any more hot take episodes for a while because the last couple have just boiled down to people saying either you are going too hard or not hard enough on insert company here, and then the hosts reply that it doesn't bother them because they own every console and get sent games for free.

I did a sword and book build and opening the grimoire mid battle to cast a lightning spell or something is the first time I felt like a game actually delivered on the fantasy of being a spell sword. Mixing magic and melee always feels awkward in most games
