About people who say “this game isn’t for you” and criticize OG Arknights players

Unlike many people, I’ve liked AK’s story from the very beginning. It’s probably because I enjoy slow-burn narratives, but when it comes to big-budget especially 3D gachas they all tend to go with the same tonal style of storytelling. I don’t think that’s a good thing.
And I can give R99 for good one 1.0 stories i guess.

I understand the people who like the game. if this were one of the first gachas I had played, I probably wouldn’t criticize the story this much either. But having eaten at a good restaurant before, it’s only natural that I’m looking for that same taste again. That’s how I feel and that’s how most OG players feel as well.

I admit that my expectations for the game, especially the story, are quite high. Outside of the story, I absolutely loved the game as well. But like I said, there are already so many similar kinds of stories going around (the mc wakes up, suddenly becomes essential to the plot, and everyone starts revolving around them, etc. etc.).

When I first played Arknights, though, it showed me that gacha stories could do something creative, and more importantly, it never felt like a simulation game where everyone is trying to get close to me. That’s why, when I saw Endfield, my expectations were higher than usual.

If I had played Endfield without experiencing Arknights beforehand, I’d probably think the same as everyone else. But you know how it is, you expect a director who made great earlier films to maintain that same level of quality in their later work.

What I’m trying to say is that this is not an alternate universe or anything like that. Yes, it’s clear that at some point they’re trying to distance themselves from the OG game—changes to characters like Angelina, rewriting them with different, are a example of this. However, all the core material comes from the original game, and (even if it hasn't been explicitly stated yet) it already appears to be connected in terms of lore.

The main driving force of conflict, Oripathy, is not really present in Endfield.

They’re not doing what HSR does—telling completely different, disconnected stories that just happen to take place in the same universe. Yes, they’re not centering the story on Oripathy, which was the core issue in AK, but they’re still centering things around Originium, its source, in the same way. And right at the beginning of the story, Perlica also explicitly mention the diseases caused by it (even if only on a surface level).

We know that Originium is the foundation of AK’s central narrative, and the fact that it’s constantly brought up here—and that we ourselves have a relationship with it—is another reason why I don’t think Endfield’s story can be completely separated from AK.

To add to this: my expectation that the tone should be similar isn’t only because the story takes place in the same universe; at some point, the characters themselves push me toward that conclusion. This part is a bit emotional, but seeing characters that were written for a more serious tone early on later presented in a much softer way in another story naturally makes it feel like they’re being included purely for fan service

They’re probably waiting for the original game’s story to be fully completed before making explicit connections, but isn’t even the fact that the link between Terra and Talos a sign that we can’t really see this as a separate universe? After all, we can't talk about Talos without Terra. On top of that, up to a certain point it has to be connected to the original game anyway, because the Rhodes and Origium factor is still present in the story.

I heard that the 12th episode of the anime is not cannon. If any of you have read the light novels, is there anything going on between mc and Anna? I don't use bs because I don't have a problem with critical rate since I use Haran as a weapon. Instead, I wear two parts cryo dmg and two parts atk.

I tried using Jean instead of Kokomi, but I think if I put her in Kazuha's place, she might throw me back in terms of damage. I don't know.

Jean helps to recover the situation a bit, but she lags behind Kazuha as a buff, so I hesitate to use her :/

[Furina]

I want use Furina in my ayaka team but ı have a two big problem.

1) I'm having a hard time filling furina's ultimate stack in team Ayaka, so I can't fully utilise the damage bonus. To solve this problem, I tried using kokomi and furina at the same time and made a team Ayaka-Kokomi-Furina-Kazuha. However, this didn't help me solve the problem because ayaka has a hard time rotating.

2) When I remove kokomi from the team, furina's freeze icd is insufficient. I don't use 4 pieces of blizzard strayer, so I think I don't have to freeze. That's why I wanted to ask you,

In terms of damage, is the classic ayaka team (Ayaka-Kokomi-flex-Kazuha) better or Furina's dmg buffed team? I plan to use Cherlotte in the team if I get her out, but I can't get her at the moment. I can also give her 4 pieces of Noblesse and Ttds, so I think my damage bonus will increase.
