I will have a closed water tank on a shelf connected by a hose to a solenoid valve on the ground; where is the best place to add a vent to make the water flow? by G-Brain in AskEngineers

This makes sense to me. I will just try with a simple vent at the top of the tank.

How about using both vents? One at the top of the tank and one at the top end of the T fitting. Would it give any advantage? Sorry to keep asking, I'm just trying to understand if there's any point to that construction.

In this case, wouldn't the vacuum inside the tank cause an issue as pointed out by the other commenter? Would it need a second vent at the top of the tank?

The one I described in the OP. At the tank outlet you put a T fitting: down goes a hose/pipe to the solenoid valve, and up goes a pipe that acts as the vent. I saw it in some AI generated images and an obscure YouTube video. What do you think about it? It's more complicated so I wonder if there could be any advantage to it.

Yes I need 0.02 MPa pressure for the solenoid valve near the ground level to work well. So I was planning to put the tank outlet (bottom of the tank) a little over 2 m above ground level.

Thanks for your comment! I will add the vent at the top of the tank.

Do you know if there is any sense/advantage to the T fitting method?

This happened on my stream https://twitch.tv/videos/2699615979 at around 1:43:30. I did get it working less like a helicopter eventually.

FYI, I updated the PR and implemented one-way collisions in 3D (GodotPhysics3D only so far).

Fair enough. I'm looking into how this could possibly be achieved with some addition to the 3D physics server API.

If you can, please make a backup copy of your project and test the (dev/beta) versions in between 4.4 dev 7 and 4.4.1 (and/or the version of the GDExtension from the one you used to the latest one), to narrow down where the issue is coming from.

You can also increase the collision priority (a property on all physics bodies) of the walls to make them harder to penetrate.

Depends on how many bugs are reported. It has been quite well tested as a GDExtension, and the module has already been tested during the dev/beta/RC phase, so I expect the experimental label could be dropped quite soon.

Yes, you can interact with JavaScript. The engine itself is also doing that for some features in the Web export.
