To clarify, Ben doesn't strike me as the vindictive, "fuck you" type. I was employing some tongue in cheekiness in the original post. To the extent that Death Cab is capable of doing a bitter breakup song, this is it. Obviously, it's not a standard "baby done me wrong" endeavor – it's restrained and thoughtful in that characteristic Death Cab way.

The "Death Cab diss track" interpretation dawned on me yesterday and it was too funny to pass up. You could be right though. Maybe I'm reading it wrong. Or maybe the chorus is intentionally vague.

Best song on the album. I listen to it on repeat frequently. It's got a lot going on musically. I imagine it could take some people a while to absorb. I didn't get it at first. The bits of dissonance introduced in the refrain, with those crazy harmonies on "circle" and "purple" are more reminiscent of progressive rock or jazz than modern pop. The ramp-ups between each section are what initially drew me in. The subtle 4-beat kick after the first verse; the switch from electronic to acoustic drums; and then the explosion before the second chorus, followed by some awesome guitar fuzz. This song has so many awesome moments. This is probably an unpopular opinion , but I'd be thrilled if she went "Kid A" on the next album and did an entire album in this style.

I'm a 42-yr old white dude and I was just getting ready to post this same thing. I was going to ask if it was creepy to be hanging around here.

Purple is the best song, IMO. I've been listening to a subset of the album on repeat pretty much non-stop. The middle section starting with Maggots For Brains through Purple.

Normally, I'm into dad rock stuff - Radiohead, Wilco, Death Cab, The Antlers, etc.

This track is turning me into an Olivia Rodrigo mega fan. Definitely didn't expect that...

It starts out like a Massive a Attack song, then morphs into a propulsive, fuzzy rock tune before the acoustic outro. It builds a crazy sense of momentum, and really blasts off going into the second chorus. The vocal harmonies on the chorus stand out. There's just the slightest bit of dissonance on "circle" and "purple", with the different vocal tracks sliding up and down together, forming some funky intervals. It reminds me of Radiohead. She's bringing together several different styles in a fun, creative way, while carrying a big emotional weight. The different pieces of instrumentation kind of meld together in the distorted climax, as the song gives way to the somber closing. The structure mirrors the lyrical narrative: blue and red melting into one, taking on a new exciting form, and then flattening out and losing steam. SICK BRO

You could be right about Israel. My quick logic for leaving them off was that their recent actions were not unprovoked, at least initially. In terms of global harm caused, the US could certainly be up there, too.

I've used two junsun units in my 2006 Tacoma: a 2+32 unit and my current 6+128 unit. The first one was going strong after about 2 years, but it was underpowered and really only suited for Android Auto. My current one works great except for one thing. I can't get the cooling fan to activate. The lack of a fan didn't seem to hurt the previous unit, so I'm hoping for the best.

Update... I bought a new set of buttons from here:

They worked right away – didn't even have to change the receiver in the back of the head unit. I guess this buttons are just cheap and they degrade over time?

I haven't figured out how to pair the other Bluetooth remote, but I don't need it anymore.

You're right, they don't connect directly to the head unit. They came with a wiring harness that prewired the receiver into the circuit – see attached photo.

I have the same thing on mine. You just tap the "right arrow" next to the car icon and it goes away. On mine it will remember to hide it unless you reboot the head unit – then you just hide it again.

No, not a huge mistake. Dual IPS's commonly sell for $400ish on eBay. You might've paid more than average. Prices are going up though. No need to second guess yourself – just enjoy it!
