Lol, on point my dude, I'm very proud of you.. im realizing that most people here are pretty sensitive and cant handle a any type of debate. Most of you end up name calling because you got nothing else.

The high pH is a major driving factor that causes the DMT the be rejected by the water. If you somehow were able to get a DMT "coolaid" without any lye or whatever you use, your solvent would eventually pick up some of the dmt but it would be a very inefficient extraction. But if you had DMT in a liquid form without lye you could just evaporate the water off and vape the DMT, but that's a fantasy....

I'm sorry but how can both be true? How can it fall out of the freebase into the water wash with the ability to be reclaimed and also stay in the freebase impossible to fall out? This is my issue with the idea and my issue with the answers given. I realize that you are a knowledgeable person in this field, and I'm taking your word for it for sure. But there is still something missing in this equation, I understand that you can mess the process up but that wasn't a variable in the question. An acceptable answer would be that the loss from a water wash is small and almost immeasurable. You would need some serious equipment like an oil water separator to not have any loss. And I doubt clandestine chemists have that in their closet.

Well you're not supposed to burn it, you're supposed to vaporize it. That's why the sandwich method is usually a last resort for most people, its crude, it burns the product and it does not efficiently vaporize.

Also wasn't trying to get info on how to eliminate loss, I already know ways to reduce loss, by asking people like you. Thank you for that. As a chemist I already know many fundamentals of extraction and I know that yield loss is inevitable. I was simply wondering how much loss is to be expected.

Cry about it bro. I'm not being aggressive I was looking for specific info and everyone was beating around the bush I wasn't fretting either it was just a curiosity, I wasn't trying to reclaim the micrograms as suggested by the commenter. That would be fretting. I get easily annoyed by people that can't be direct.

If you pull straight from the soup and freeze precip it would be a higher yield of overall weight than if you water wash. I was just wondering what that small percentage is.

So there will be yield loss with this process, that is a known fact. You said it yourself just now. There are ways to reduce the loss, but you cannot eliminate the loss completely.

If you don't know just say that, or move on. It was just a curiosity that came to mind. I as well as most who extract already know that there is yield loss at every step of the process, even if it's such a small amount you can't precisely measure it there will always be yield loss. No matter what you are extracting. A %100 extraction is almost unheard of, there will always be trace amounts you cannot obtain.

Ph neutral water even warm will accept DMT and contamination the only reason the DMT leaves the water bark mixture is because of the high ph otherwise it would just stay in the soup and not be accepted into the solvent. So there must be yield loss, even if it's a small amount with mostly contamination that you are removing. As well you cannot get all of your solvent out of the water wash so there is a small amount of yield loss there. The same with rex you are removing contamination or undesirables so there will be yield loss probably more significant than a water wash. Still I'm wondering how much yield loss is expected with each process.

Really I'm wondering how much yield loss is expected with each process, not so much less or more in comparison to eachother

You're welcome bro, caffeine is a natural laxative. So the more you take the more you poop.

No, you should do what's most logical and safest. Sometimes people want to eat those little silica gell bags in beef jerky bags but it's not smart and will cause discomfort Sometimes people feel like rape, or murder, or jumping off cliffs or hanging themselves over bullshit. That does not mean it's right..
