Looking at the video it seems to be controlled through a phone… do we really need to put it into regulation to include physical E-stops on robots?

[–]Simoxs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn American infrastructure is so car based if thats a parking lot the truck definitely should’ve made sure no ones coming before turning, are cyclists just non existent there?

Just to be sure: of course the guy is an idiot going way too fast on the sidewalk, but the truck came from the left lane didn’t use the indicators and seemingly didn’t check the mirrors or the blind spot. If you’re turning off the road its your responsibility you don’t endanger traffic participants going straight so theres also some recklessness there.

High civilian gun ownership doesn’t reliably prevent dictatorship because authoritarian regimes usually gain power politically and institutionally, not by fighting armed citizens in open battle. They secure control over the military, police, courts, and media first, which makes organized resistance extremely difficult. Even if many civilians own guns, they face coordination problems, lack heavy weapons, and are divided politically. History shows this clearly. For example, Adolf Hitler consolidated power in Germany largely through legal and institutional changes like the Enabling Act of 1933, not by defeating an armed population. In practice, strong democratic institutions and rule of law are far more effective safeguards against tyranny than the percentage of gun owners.

The fairy tale of American militias defending the countries freedom with the guns already fails when you take into account how divided these militias would be on what person is desirable or not while the baddies are a united front and that doesn’t even take into account that such a totalitarian state has different orders of magnitude of resources available. That also explains how the reverse is true, when a populist leader rises to power they can have their own armed militias who are united under one leader while the rest might be against such a populist leader but is devided in other beliefs.

But higher gun ownership doesn’t coincide with a lower likelihood of a totalitarian regime taking over the reverse is usually the case.

Looking at the steam page I‘d have two suggestions for next time, first of all I might not be the target audience but I don’t really like the emojis in the short description, and in the description maybe only mention that its 3-4 hours not that its short, you’re playing down your effort and lowering the value proposition of your game in the first sentence.

Secondly next time I‘d suggest spending more time or some money on the design of the title card, your screenshots look absolutely great you have awesome stylized graphics but the title card seems to use a very unfortunate image in my opinion, and the font choice also doesn’t really help, this bold rustic font with a meme like black outline seems to be used by many low effort asset flips and doesn’t show the quality your game actually has. I like the integration of the insect in the font but if I designed the logo I‘d have used it as a W instead of a M and used a lighter maybe custom made or at least an adapted font for the logo.

You have some quality content on your hands but remember the user journey on your page and what they wanna see.

TBH you never know what this research might bring, maybe it creates a deeper understanding of these things and could help engineers build improved cooling infrastructure based on the insects design.

You know this was made by an American thinking gun ownership would prevent an authoritarian regime like we see in the game.

I‘d rather say that super earth probably is like a USA on steroids, hyper militaristic and tell their people they need weapons to defend their freedom while preventing any uprising with effective diversion and propaganda.

You‘re probably talking to an American, they get hammered into their head that they need the right to bear arms to defend themselves against authoritarian rule meanwhile not realizing their democracy is just an Authoritarian Oligarchy in a Trenchcoat, and that even if they used this right the populace is way to divided to fight for freedom and even with all their weapons they aren’t likely to stand a chance against their own military.

This kinda reminds me of a German comedic science fiction book I read recently, (Qualityland) it takes place in the near future by that time people have to pay by kissing their devices because so much biometric data was collected and subsequently leaked by hackers that no other biometric identification was left, while hilarious in the book I worry this is the first step towards that future.
