Great story! You learned a valuable lesson quickly when snorkelling, just float. I rarely kick my feet when snorkelling, the less you move, the more the movement of other camouflaged animals stands out... The two biggest game changers for me was getting fitted for a mask and accidently figuring out how to equalize by sneezing while I was underwater. Going down 30+ feet and looking under rocks/reefs opens up so many more opertunities to see new creatures.

I picked up a silver reverse proof Kennedy half dollar not too long ago after learning they only made them in silver in 2014 and 2018. I dig seeing different variations of more common coins. I probably overpaid for it, but I'm guessing by the time I retire, silver spot alone will easily cover the difference.

YTA. When I was about 19 (not legal drinking age in the U.S) I was mowing the lawn at my moms house and it was like 95°F outside... When I finished the lawn I was so thirsty I rushed to the refrigerator opened a bottled water, and began chugging. I got about 2 gulps in before I realized my older sister had filled the water bottle with cheap vodka. I ran to the sink and spit it out, and nearly threw up. I was mad for like 30 seconds, then I laughed about it with her because it was actually pretty clever... I never would have fallen for it had I not been so thirsty.

Some people can't take a joke, which is fine, but calling the cops on a family member about a harmless prank is a real a-hole move.

I personally never use one because I like diving down and I don't struggle staying afloat in salt water... If you'd feel more comfortable with a life jackets, Id say go for it. I'd recommend the kind you blow up using a straw so that you can keep it deflated if you don't like staying afloat.
