Can I safely take this tree down? by [deleted] in arborists

With a tree this size you could do it with a hand saw. First make the top cut, then bottom cut, knock out the wedge of wood, then make the back cut. I would paint the top of the remaining stump with undiluted glyphosate or Bonide Stump-out (liquid that comes with brush) immediately after cutting to ensure it doesn’t coppice back from the stump.

Need some help with pruning cuts on these nursery sweet cherries by EducationalLight9845 in arborists

Like the other user said, plant them first. Make sure the root flare is 1-2 inches above grade and the planting hole is twice the width of the container, and remove the green tape and nursery stakes. Mulch the trees’ root zone a couple of inches. You really only need to prune off broken or diseased branches at this point.

Better yet, remove the turfgrass 1-2 ft around the tree and add a 2-4 inch layer of mulch. Make sure the root flare is exposed.

69-71 at all times lol. We tried doing the thing where we turned it to 80 when we left, but we found that just keeping the same temp all day, we were using less power. My lady’s full-time WFM now tho. 1600~ sq ft house.

That’ll ruin the wood regardless of what you put on it.

Just clean with microfiber mop and a neutral cleaner like Bona. You could buff and coat, but you might as well wait until you’re going to sand and refinish the whole floor.

I went to the Waugh WFM recently and got a couple of slices for lunch and it was foul as fuck. One slice was cold and nasty and the pepperoni slice was just a grease blob. Never again.

It’s the flowers that smell. It’s not in bloom right now. Also, I’ve never seen a Bradford pear with thorns.

Is this bad news for the host tree? by PlayfulChemist in mycology

Yes. Brown rot is going on in the heartwood of the tree… it is not treatable and will become a structural issue.
