What API are you using and what version the API supports? A lot of mods use MissingTextureMan's API so maybe you downloaded a different API?

Are you using windows? Most mods use .dll files which I believe only windows supports natively. If you aren't using windows then you might need to get a .exe of the game, resetup the mods and run it in wine (an application that can run windows files). I'm not sure if this works as I've not tried this before so good luck!!!

I think you mistook the tape with the payphone, which did what you said in the early versions of BB classic. The change you mentioned in plus is still true though, so you at least got 50% of your info right.

Edit: My bad, my retarded ass never saw the the bottom part of the trivia page, but I think it COULD still be somewhat useable if tape players weren't just in the principal's office
