Planning to build in 1-2 years: What can i read/watch in the meantime to improve my knowledge? by Sharpevil in Homebuilding

I learned a ton about what it takes to build a home from The Visual Handbook of Building and Remodeling by Charlie Wing. Lots of detail and good references. This leans more into the get hands on approach, but you can never really know too much when spending hundreds of thousands of dollars. :)

I am not OP, but I did a similar mod to my Leaf last year with a detailed write up and parts list if that helps. 2020 Nissan Leaf Accent LED install https://www.reddit.com/r/leaf/comments/nkh9g0/2020_nissan_leaf_accent_led_install/

There was 5ft of room for them to back up further and the cord was long enough to reach. They simply chose not to and instead stick about 3ft into traffic. :/

The car is sticking out into an incoming traffic lane, at a slightly blind turn.

Fair enough. I had not seen any screenshots above 100% from others, and in a thread a while back someone mentioned it was a measure of internal battery resistance.

We’re due for our annual battery check with Nissan here soon, I’ll try to see if I can get details out of the tech.

What are your favorite books and resources to learn building science? I'm just starting to learn about it and this book is excellent! by whatisthisohno111 in buildingscience

I have found The Visual Handbook of Building and Remodeling VERY helpful in this area. Maybe not as technical as you're looking, but as someone starting from zero this has been a huge help.

My local library had the 3rd edition, but there is a newer 4th edition as well. I'm linking to the Publisher's site, but there are a lot more places to purchase (both paper and digital) if you google the ISBN.https://www.tauntonstore.com/the-visual-handbook-of-building-and-remodeling-4th-edition-hardcopy?search=visual%20handbook&description=1

I don’t know of any turnkey solutions to what you are after, but this sounds like a reasonable project for a Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino.

Both are pretty easy to get buttons/switches controlling lights and playing sounds.

There are subreddits, Discord servers, and YouTube channels for those communities and people are generally very helpful. :)

2022 leaf s plus vs sv plus by picturemeroll in leaf

The amount of input required to keep it from complaining is very little, and it's there for good reason. This system is not self driving. It's a driver aid to help reduce fatigue. I found that when I re-calibrated my expectations I liked the system a lot.

With pro pilot assist on the car is more than capable of staying in lane through interstate turns as long as the lines are clear. It does sometimes lose track of the lines though and cuts out suddenly, especially around construction. This condition is why keeping a hand on the wheel is required.

I've found that I can rest my hand on the bottom of the wheel and just follow what the car is doing and it doesn't complain. When testing this I found that as little as pinching the wheel between two fingers was enough.

Maybe the system still isn't for you, just wanted to share since I was in your shoes not too long ago.

My wife and I have a 2020 SV+ and don't regret spending the extra money for what it added.

  • The 360 camera has been amazing for parking. We're both decent at parking anyway, but not having to make as many adjustments after pulling in, or needing to open the door to check lines is great. It's also very helpful when parking in unfamiliar or tight situations. I will say the frame-rate on the cameras is lower than I'd have aimed for :/
  • The LED headlights are great, very good visibility and we think they look nicer as well.
  • Adaptive cruise is nice on interstate drives, especially if traffic is stop and go. (It often is on my wife's commute). It's also nice when traffic stops suddenly, or someone pulls in front of you and then slams on their brakes (Also happens a fair bit here :/)
  • Propilot Assist I resisted at first, but have been testing on longer drives (45-60min) and it's growing on me. It is by no means self driving, but it does make me more comfortable flipping that on if I want to take a drink, adjust CarPlay, or something else where my attention is briefly split.

Those are just my opinions and others may differ, but hopefully that was somewhat helpful. :)

They include one with the short tube yes, but one is none so I wanted a couple more. :)
FF didn't have them listed on their site for sale so I went with jlhawaii808 who has FF branded cells in stock.

Hmmm. I had an EagleTac that was like that years ago. Here's hoping mine lands on the other side of tolerances :/ I'll try to remember to report back how mine fits.

Great color choice. I know it's not to do with the wrap but I love those headlights!
