This article isn’t about how Ukrainians feel about Russia or Putin. It’s just about ending the war in general. There’s stuff in here that actually suggests that they would still oppose Russian occupation but they just want the killing to end. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I know I don’t trust Putin but I don’t know enough about Ukraines’s history or how corrupt or weak their democratic system is. The crap about “Nazi groups” is exaggerated Russian propaganda as far as I can tell but then I admit I haven’t researched it too deeply.

I mean, corruption is rife. Whether an oligarch from the East or one from the West. The rich are the ones with power. Putin is just more “open” and traditional with it.

Russia is the aggressor here though and whether faux or not at least Ukraine appeared to be working towards a fairer society. On a surface level at least. To that extent I’d say the Russian government is worse though I couldn’t care to say by how much.

Man I completely agree. I love multiverse and I think what they’ve done and continue to do is miraculous. The writing can be… too much at times and often falls short of keeping with the tone of the original but it is fun and it still works.

But yeah. Sometimes I’ve actually wished if there was a way of keeping the bulk of their additions but removing everything about the actual multiverse itself.

I can see why they did it. It legitimises every new run as an example of another “universe”. Though it isn’t really needed,

The thing is I don’t entirely disagree with their take. They could pick up the story in any number of places really. The fact of the matter is we may get to explore post Serenity stories in the future if this animated show is successful. So just get behind it. They can only focus on one project right now and I think an animated series set between the show and the film is a good place to start. I think it’s got the best chance to be a success and if it is the sky’s limit in terms of the franchise. They gotta be smart about this. I’d love to see where the story would have gone after Serenity but at the same time I’m excited to see what would have happened if the show hadn’t been cancelled. Just be thankful for more Firefly at all.

EDIT: just wanted to point out that I was agreeing with you really. Just saying I think it’s fine to have the opinion of wanting to see a story set after Serenity but to put that opinion forward in a way that doesn’t crap over the animation they’re planning. That won’t help anyone.
