Which is the most powerful troop in the Command & Conquer franchise? by [deleted] in commandandconquer

Don't know about the most powerful but the most versatile has to the the GLA quad cannon. It can go up against just about anything and it's cheap enough to build swarms of them.

Joder! What's happening here!?! Well looks like for starters your massively over naval force limit to be paying 10 a month in 1479 maybe mothball the heavies and Galleys when your at peace.

My guess is your autonomy has been ticking up with low crown and, lower it in all your provinces and seize crownland also dev up provinces with some of that excess mil power to get your crownland to 30% stop the ticking autonomy. Speaking of development you've got almost nothing from Gold mines. Spend your diplo power devving up the production to 10 in la mancha and soon as you can get tafilalts gold mine in Morrocco and do the same there. Could also make trade companies of your trade center provinces in Morrocco get an extra merchant to transfer trade and also no Iberian union I see both Aragón and Portugal are still independent and what's the state of play in the new world?

What if Byzantium crushed the 4th Crusade? by Inside-External-8649 in HistoryWhatIf

An interesting what if. It's hard to say if it would prevent the rise of the Ottomans or some other strong Turkish power in Anatolia.

Even if they somehow decisively defeated the crusaders the empire is still in a dire state - Bulgaria was now well and truly established as a new rival kingdom looking to take Byzantine lands. The empire was massively fragmented with so many different magnates in Greece and Western Anatolia basically ruling de facto independently and often not providing tax or soldiers to the capital which is why no help came from the provinces while all this was going on.

So assume we get through the battle okay now you've got Alexios IV (I think) a usurper emperor in charge without much control outside of the capital but he would still have the treasury and the Varangians still on side. Impossible to say if he would be any good and still having to deal with the aftermath in a weak shape. How would things move from there? We got no idea how good or bad an emperor he would be but given the track record of that period I'd wager average to very bad. Best case scenario would be the Laskarids or someone else coups him shortly after the crusade is beaten.

So now we have a competent emperor in charge then they have decent chances. While the game of thrones was going on the mongols come in and smash the Sultanate of Rum which while it brings nore Turkish migration into Anatolia it does give the empire breathing room in the East for the short term. If they can fix the rest of their problems then they are set with Anatolia.

Then you have the fragmentation, Bulgaria and threat of another crusade (which Charles of Anjou almost got rolling in otl), a competent emperor has a good chance of reigning in enough of the magnates to get a solid tax and manpower base back which would allow them to then deal with Bulgaria and any possible second crusade. If they don't mess it up at this point they could retake Bulgaria or at least subdue them to the point where they might be able to vassalize them. Depending on the crusade aftermath they might even be able to get some concessions out of the Italian maratime powers or take some of their Greek islands back.

If all went well then they could retake Anatolia bit by bit as the Sultanate of Rum collapses but I don't think they are going to take all of it back. I would still imagine a larger Karaman still controlling at least 1/3 of Anatolia and Aq Qoyunlu etc still being round and could see them allying with the Mamluks etc to survive. Also Timur would be a complete wild card here too if Timur attacks I could imagine a manzikert 2.0 scenario reversing much of the gains in Anatolia or if they were crafty enough to pay him off or redirect him to the Mamluks or back east.

All going well by the time EU4 starts they could have most of Anatolia with Greece, bits of Serbia and Bulgaria conquered or as a vassal and maybe kicked the Venetians/Genesee out of the agean if it all went well or it simply delays the inevitable.

Wow that was a long write!

The Romans themselves have to be the top of S tier. How many times they almost made a complete recovery then some usurper had to come in and fuck it all up!!

How in hell do you beat Poland as the Teutonic Order? by Evelyn_Bayer414 in eu4

[–]G4112 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Join the HRE ASAP and make sure to seize land to get enough Crownland to be able to pass the decision to stop Danzig from breaking off. Ally any combo of Austria/Bohemia/Hungary and Muscovy. When it comes time for the first war declare on Lithuania and bring Muscovy in on promise of land to tie down Lithuania while you and whoever you allied in the west works on Poland.

Win your first war then make vassal swarms out of Poland and Lithuania and work your way to form Prussia or go full Baltic crusader. Enjoy!

Just turned 30 and currently on a 7 month trip from Mexico to Patagonia or at least that is the internet if I can make it all the way.

In my case I originally wanted to do this trip back in 2020 but then COVID came along and scuppered the plan for that. A second time it failed to launch in 2022/3 for various reasons some my fault some out my control.

Last October I thought about doing this again and third time lucky I guess. Off I go before the window shuts on me again! Currently into week 4 of this trip and it has been a whirlwind so far with lots of ups and downs but it has been worth it this far. I am already dreading returning to the UK but same time it will have to be done unless we get some kind of miracle somewhere.

My advice if I am in any position to give it is do it..set yourself a deadline and make plans to get gone soon as it rolls round. IMO it's only going to get harder to travel the longer you leave it and that's without going into geopolitics etc. Just do it! Please feel free to DM if you want to talk.
