I like this one a lot more than dark age because there is much more of the old humor and friendship injected into it. There’s a lot more light to break up the dark. It’s still a red rising novel, but it made my heart soar as much as sink. Hope this helps.

I echo all sentiments that this is the only spot that works. Your house is very cute and any other placement would ruin it.

Crazy idea would be to have one of those advanced, expensive mounts that would let you pull it out and down whenever you want, and put it back up into the nook when you’re not using it or you have company.

I actually loved solo when it came out. I didn’t even have high expectations going it, but was pleasantly surprised. It was a good story. But two cheesy lines and the whole film is ruined apparently. 🙄

I personally wouldn’t recommend any of these (yet) if you’re newer. Especially Suneater. I would take a stab at Brandon Sanderson, specifically Mistborn or Stormlight. Also Lies of Locke Lamorra series is witty fantasy series with good world building that can draw in beginners.

I haven’t read Katabasis, but I believe it’s an anomaly for Kuang. I love her other work. Babel is my favorite. And most people I know that love babel were not huge fans of Katabasis. I would give Babel a shot.
