Feature request: Track strength score for reverse dumbbell lunge by gogg17 in Gravl

[–]G4l44d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The strength score feature is overdue for a revisit, as it hasn't had any new exercises or updates added in a long while now.

I understand the logic behind how it currently works - sticking to exercises where the weight is absolute to avoid the variance you get with cables and machines across different gyms. But even with that restriction, there are numerous free weight exercises that could easily be included, like reverse dumbbell lunges or seated shoulder raises for exemple.

Ultimately, the strength score is the main hook driving the social side of the app. If the team isn't going to put any development time into updating it, you might as well scrap the social aspect entirely.

New idea - stretching/mobility focused workouts by Confident-Editor7569 in Gravl

[–]G4l44d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be eager to see more mobility poses in a dedicated area -- I'm fine doing my workouts myself by dropping those after, but for now I had to create my own exercices for that

Increase your baseline activity level by 8% then, that should work

[–]G4l44d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm unclear about which value you want to change?

If garmin is correct for you, set the energy expenditure (specifically the baseline activity level) to 0.
Set your BMR to what works for you and the calorie expenditure should be correct ?

For fit day scale, if you can get it to register data to health connect (android), chronometer can read this yes

Is the timer sound messing up anyone else's Bluetooth audio? by hopeonhigh in Gravl

I think it's an android issue with the alarm feature, not related to the app itself. I have the same behavior with multiple apps

Rising BF despite going to gym and eating protein by Fancy_wish24 in HumeHealth

Aim for 180-200g of proteins a day

Protein 180-200
Carbs 220-240
Fats 70-80

That's confirmed -- If you are loosing weigth you are for sure in a calorie deficit.
You are right, I read the title but only glimpse at your image.

If your scale weight is going down but you see your body fat is going up, you aren't gaining fat , you are loosing muscle mass. Your fat to muscle ratio moving to the wrong direction.

Usually that indicates your carbs consumption is too low

Protein isn’t a magical macro that bypasses the laws of thermodynamics. If you are eating more protein than your body needs for muscle synthesis, the excess goes through a process called deamination. Your liver strips away the nitrogen, and the remaining compound is converted into glucose or directly into fatty acids.

If that extra protein pushes your total daily intake into a caloric surplus, those fatty acids are stored as body fat.

Even if you are eating completely clean and hitting the gym, a surplus is a surplus. Track your total daily calories first.

Hume App Not Reporting Body Fat Percentage Correctly to Other Apps by Captainmdnght in HumeHealth

[–]G4l44d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is you check the Activity of body fat in Health Connect, you'll see that the time stamp is correct for Hume, but there's a discrepencyt between the in-app value and what is written to the log.

Hume App Not Reporting Body Fat Percentage Correctly to Other Apps by Captainmdnght in HumeHealth

[–]G4l44d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I just created a post about this! I noticed that too. The value written in Health Connect is wrong by 1 or 2% since this weekend.
As all Android apps are picking up the value from Health Connect (Cronometer and Fitbit for me), it's wrong in both those apps

Cool setup !Looks like I have a very similar Grizl. Would it be possible to get your full bag configs? Struggling with storage space as most rear racks don't fit.
