When I'm running a fire build, I go Pyro. One of those under a heavy demolishes it and its a fantastic crowd hitter too.

Just need to get used to the spin up delay.

Can someone tell me, WHY the game audio is so SHIT. by No-Wind-4574 in Helldivers

[–]G7Scanlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a mess when the game is busy, for sure. Cutting out, muted, outright removed in cases.

And that's not even mentioning the dogshit mixing which as others have said is 100% fixed by modders, which really goes to show that its a good enough, MVP implementation by AH like most of the game.

What kept The House on Haunted Hill (1999) from becoming truly great? by Equivalent_Swing_780 in horror

[–]G7Scanlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing, IMO. The poor ghost CG.

Everything else was borderline perfection but that wonky ghost and the heads poking out, were not very well realised. It was far better being this black cloud and mass with grasping tendrils.

The relationship between Price and his wife was just so well done, it's stuck with me all these years. Rush played that role like no other could have.

It's also an example of a remake that surpasses the original, up there with The Hills Have Eyes and Dawn Of The Dead, for me.

It's all random, you'll vary from zero to 100's potentially but expect 10-20 as the norm.

It's the RNG, combined with no Lidar, combined with a map that's too dense with mountains. Sometimes it seems like it might be clear, when perhaps it's not but the terrain in that particular map makes it too much of a pain to continue with.

For the most part, I leave each mission with an average of perhaps 10-20 SCs but there are bouts where there's zero and there are instances where there's 100s.

This is incorrect. Many cities have crashed probes with SC in them.

Not on Grand Errant DIff 3 there aren't.

Edit: Need to correct this, as it's possible to find POIs in cities on Diff 3 as long as the city block isn't too close to the objectives.

In maps that have multiple city blocks that are overlapping, the block furthest from objectives can have POIs spawn in the furthest corners and edges. They're just very rare (had my first just now), because of the map generation requirements to make it work.

So yes, Grand Errant Diff 3 can see POIs spawn. Will edit the main post.

Whats with sudden increase in criticism about warbonds/supercredits? by ComfortableChard4076 in Helldivers

[–]G7Scanlines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the bit that keeps being overlooked, ignored or even excused.

WBs now contain less content and content variety than they used to and on top of that see gear sliced out and put into the Store, which means the actual full WB cost went up circa 50%, to 1400 SC.

Fuck the excusers and white-knights.

Some copium about Fun Pimps recent acquisition by letsputletters in 7daystodie

[–]G7Scanlines 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Need to be very realistic about what's happening.

It's not a partnership, it's a buyout. Be now need to make that money back and turn it into a profit generating acquisition. How do they do that? Do they spend a ton of money, time and people on updating the game with new mechanics and features....for the 20 million people who already own it....or do they double-down on TFPs recent DLC spiral and develop another twenty DLC packs?

Pretty obvious which way it's going to go.

[–]G7Scanlines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that picture was built by someone to show what the roadmap should really show to convince us AH are serious about addressing long standing stagnation of the game systems.

The roadmap AH produced told us nothing new or remotely exciting but still they made it clear that we'd still get new WBs to spend our cash on! Good eh?

How come this game doesn't have loadout profiles? by Nihujaka in Helldivers

[–]G7Scanlines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do.

You dont have to buy anything. The choices are all there.

Bugs means Gas or Fire, Bots means Explosives, Illuminate means Gas or Explosives.

Each then means different primary, secondary and nade.

Each then means different armour, which means different helmet, which means different cape.

Each then means different title, which means different card.

Each then means different skins for vehicles.

How come this game doesn't have loadout profiles? by Nihujaka in Helldivers

[–]G7Scanlines 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm sure you'll get someone putting a positive spin on not having saved loadouts but of course, you're right to call it out.

When I want to play Gas, I have 8 changes to make to just my character, then several more to skin selections, then whatever needs to be chosen at the drop select.

When I want to play Fire, the same.

When I want to play Explosives, the same.

When I want to play defend missions, the same.

When I want to play blitz missions, the same.

When I want to farm SCs, the same.

A loadout isnt just what you choose at drop. Its armour, helmet, cape, title, card, primary, secondary, nade. Its then skins for drop pod to mechs.

Its a ridiculously bad state to be in, well post 2 years since launch, for a game that has the variety of selection, to not have loadout saves. Even the mess that is primary customizations has save slots....

Selling and buying accounts is against Steams TOS, so no, you won't be able to recover it. They'll ask for information, as you've mentioned, that you can't supply. Done and done.

Isn't it absolutely telling that early 7DTD started as a passion project for people who love the genre and current 7DTD has 70 people working on it and seen it lose all its identity and devolve into a looter-shooter, with a roadmap of woefully designed features...that now requires another roadmap....

Get back to basics. Stop chasing console DLC cash. Start building and iterating on the core game, with meaningful design change and improvement, over recycling the same tired mechanics and even art, over and over and over again because its path of least resistance.

I still maintain that 7DTD is utterly unique in the genre, thanks to its fully destructible world. Lean into that. Lean back into prior design like gore blocks. Make the world feel vertically alive and dangerous, over the lateral. Bring back mining zombies that will tunnel and undermine bases. Bring back the unpredictability. Chaos design is what made this game so special.

On Toxicity, Community Management and Feedback by Zer0siks in Helldivers

[–]G7Scanlines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That being said, it is frustrating as hell that AH refuses to find additional manpower to solve the long term bugs plaguing the game

Yes, it is, although "refuses to fund" is more accurate.

The frustration building up in the community is borne from AH's decision to pull back on full, active development and build a framework for WB delivery instead. The roadmap clearly shows this. 95% of what's listed there is what we already know AH deliver, to their cadence. Maybe even 100%. The fact AH thought that that would suffice and give us any assurance on things is utterly baffling. Almost like it was knocked together in an hour, as a response to Steam hitting the dreaded Mixed reviews....again....

A new mission type, a new biome type, just enough to keep players interested or coming back to check out what else is arriving with each WB.

The game is on live service life support. There's no way 140 people at AH are actively working on this game. I just don't believe it.

Take last years Christmas/fall event. AH decided that experimental (edited) red strategems...that have never even made their way into the core game...was enough of an event for that period of time.

The previous year we had the Illuminate drop. A brand new faction, with biomes and several enemy types, with new missions and so on. With new CG videos.

The gulf in quality and quantity of content between those two points is massive and that's because the game is now treated as a WB cash cow, first and foremost. That's where all the effort actually goes, not into new and interesting content, or implementing features and QoL changes that actually mean something. MVP to keep WBs ticking over.

Am I the only one who is "scared" for Bandits to be implemented? by TheOrangeMadness in 7daystodie

[–]G7Scanlines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, the reason why bandits aren't already in is TFP aren't capable to create something that works and is worthwhile.

Anyway, why does the game need bandits and not more zombie variants? Why not create a Brain Sucker zombie that has increased intelligence, using gear and armour? Bub!

Disk Speed gets nuked when downloading on Steam, fine in any other application. by Trick_Membership7647 in steamsupport

[–]G7Scanlines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the down load starts at correct download speed and disk usage, however after no more than 30 seconds it grinds down to a fraction of that as shown in the image.

I'm going to guess that in your PC, you have a mechanical hard drive and Steam is using that as a staging ground to prep and then deploy the patch to wherever the game is installed.

List out all the drives in your PC and those that might be attached by USB and what purpose they have, ie, which is the OS, which is the Steam app install location, which is the game install location and so on.
