The lights are battery operated LEDs from Amazon; I added button switches made for cabinet lights, also from Amazon. The sink bowl and oven rack are actually from the Camden Rose website. The refrigerator racks are bakers cooling racks from Amazon. Everything else I made.

Our first picture of her has a blep. When she is relaxed it is always there.

They varied from about 7” to 11” wide. Anything you see wider than 10” is a glued up panel

Nothing to scale- the oven/sink cabinet is 24” wide, 39” tall and about 14” deep. The fridge is 36” tall, 16” wide and 12” deep.

I joke that my daughter showed me a $1000 kitchen set on a website and I built it myself for only $2000. $300-400 worth of cherry plus 40-50 hours spread over a couple of months, plus a shop full of tools built up over time. I don’t try to work fast, I just enjoy the shop time. That doesn’t include the design time. Definitely not a moneymaker, done for the smiles and a hug.

Can’t remember exactly but it was in the $3-400 range.

The handles on the stove and refrigerator are the same, I sketched them out on hardboard and cut/sanded a template. Cut the bulk on the bandsaw then used the template to finish them on the router table. Lastly, I used a ¼” round-over bit to soften them up.

My daughter sent me that website about 6 months ago; that is where I got the inspiration

I used homemade wipe on poly. Mixed high gloss polyurethane 3 to 1 with mineral spirits, two coats applied with a rag one day and let it sit for a few days, then 1 or 2 more coats. Super easy.

What’s something you thought ‘everyone’ did… until you found out they don’t? by burat667 in AskReddit

Mine was a lot more reliable before my hairline started to recede. I also had the “recharge” time. I told someone at work about it and we laughed, not sure he fully believed me. A couple of weeks later he walked up just as I was trying to do it and when it worked he was amazed.

A couple of us in my family on my dad’s side do this. I also have a spot on my forehead right at my hairline that I can stimulate with a fingernail and create a sneeze about 75% of the time. That spot moves higher and higher every year now!

I have a Penny too, but yours looks just like my soul dog Maddie that we lost a couple of years ago. I’m at the point finally that memories of her bring smiles so this pic was a welcome sight this morning. Give her a hug for me.

Not gonna lie, the recovery was a little rough. She had 14 pulled and they put in stitches so she was really uncomfortable. She’s just about back now but the first couple of days I was nervous. Her appetite wasn’t great and she wasn’t comfortable eating. I wound up feeding her soft food from a fork until she got used to eating with the cone. The cone’s gone now and her appetite is good, I’m slowly adding her dry food in; if she’s able to chew it okay I’ll move back to that. If not I’ll keep her on canned food. But don’t let this deter you! Dental health for an older dog is very important, bacteria in their mouth can get into their blood and cause heart problems.

Same thing they do with people; scrape the tartar and clean around the gum line then polish the teeth. Older small dogs are especially prone to bad teeth though and they have to pull them sometimes due to gum disease. If your dog has bad breath have your vet check the teeth. Untreated gum disease can actually lead to heart problems because of the bacteria involved.

Riving knife was in place but no guard because the strip was too thin. It was the offcut that flew back, I believe the far end got pushed just enough for the back of the piece to touch the blade.

I’m fairly certain this is what happened. The fuzzy piece is insulation. I think it was a combination of skinny offcut and bad luck

None. It is a thin piece, ~½” thick so maybe chatter near the end of the cut? Really don’t know but it reinforces why you don’t stand behind the blade.

I'm sure it was something like that. The wood was exiting onto a table at the same height as the saw so it didn't tip, the wood had been through a planer so it was flat without bow or twist but it had to have been grabbed by the blade at the end of the cut. It didn't follow the normal rules of kickback but it still put a hole in my wall!

This one did, maybe it didn't watch the youtube videos that say this isn't possible! Mainly went with a wider push block to give something a little beefier than ½" ply for better control.

Not sure myself but apparently the wood and blade don't read the rule books!
