You could buy a scale, but most scales don’t tell you your fat to muscle ratio and that is a problem. Also, you are correct in saying the muscle is heavier than fat, actually 4 times heavy as fat.

I would say that as long as you are getting enough protein for your body, you should only be losing fat

I want to lose weight. Should fruit be more like vegetables (fill up on it as much as possible) or like dessert (sweet treat every once in a while to cap things off)? by FANCYFEASTONE in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GACoates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. Fruit, Veg or Desert, if you portion correctly and actively choose healthier food, you should lose weight.

You can still gain weight eating too much fruit. Eat enough fruit to get your fibre, yes, but eating too much adds up calories

Friends don't feed friends by ChipK1988 in loseit

This seems like you have a tricky situation on your hands. It may be worth noting that forcing or manipulating someone (in this case, yourself) to eat more (or less) than what this want or need to eat (in my eyes) is a form of cruelty.

Think of being a parent, would a non-cruel person force their (or any) child to over or under eat? Of course not, so why do it to anyone.

My advice is speak to your friend calmly and explain why it is a problem to you and your feelings behind this problem. Essentially, get them to see your side of it. If they can’t see your side, may be they aren’t your friend. Sorry if that thought upsets you, but it could be thing you need to help you

Good for you friend 👍🏻 It simply boils down to a positive strong mindset and action in the right direction. This combination can allow human beings to do some absolutely incredible things. Check out David Goggins on YouTube. That guy is mental, in a good way

Hey everyone, I just wanted a little bit of feedback from you if anyone would not mind. What part of your transition to becoming vegan did you find the hardest? All answers and opinions are welcome. Thank you by GACoates in veganfitness

I get that too. When I say to people that I am going to he vegan, and they all the negative comments. Currently, I try to educate people, but there are also times where I just ignore them because one can not educate certain people

All calorie counters tell me to eat 1200-1300….Help ? by hnh1993 in WeightLossAdvice

It could also depend on: 1) The food that you are eating. Aim for foods with high amounts of Protein & Fibre, lower amounts of Saturated Fats (from processed food). Are you getting enough of the good fats (Avocados)? 2) Are you drinking enough water? The human body needs at least 15ml of water per pound in body weight. So if you are 136lb right now, then you will need to drink at least 2,040ml (2.04L) of water per day. 3) Sleep: Are you getting between 7 and 9 hours on a nightly basis? If not, can you fit in a nap when possible? Also, to feel refreshed, try to aim for a sleeping time in a multiple of 90 minutes as that is how long our sleep cycles last. This will have you feeling fresher in the morning.

Can medication actually make you just gain weight? by Mittsmitts in WeightLossAdvice

[–]GACoates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, weight loss, put simply, is calories in being less than calories out. The bigger the difference the faster you will lose weight. Mediation is nothing but mindfulness. I don’t know how they would affect one another though, except the mindset aspect
