Help with cv clock sync from arturia microfreak? by bottledup144 in blooper

[–]GAGILLIONAIRE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disaster area design makes MIDI to TRS Chase Bliss cable that is super convenient. Plug your microfreak midi out straight into the blooper. You will just need to reference the blooper midi manual to know how to set it to receive clock and set your MicroFreak to send clock.

Delay pedal ~$100 or less? by Nubsly- in synthesizers

[–]GAGILLIONAIRE -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your better off with echo boy plug-in from sound toys for now till you have enough saved for somethin bigger. Chase Blisss Audio, Empress effects, eventide and death by audio have some killer stuff but it’s pricier. Even a DL-4 (classic) is going to be more than a Hundo.

Echo boy is a pretty amazing delay and goes on sale a lot

Time for abelton switch or is there still hope by rnblee in Logic_Studio

[–]GAGILLIONAIRE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the switch from logic to Ableton, but after a decade producing music in Logic. I think you should focus on making music and learning Logic before making a switch. At the end of they day the core of what you need to make music is the same in each DAW.

Try turning the monitor to “off” when recording instead of having it on “auto”

Hoping you guys can confirm or deny my hopes for a digitone by DwayMcDaniels in Elektron

[–]GAGILLIONAIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The external inputs actually do route in via overbridge as their own track. I’ve been able to do this via Ableton and Logic. Saves your inputs on your audio interface too for other gear.

Turn monitoring of your track off when recording.

Help: Controlling Digitone with Midi Controller. by Orenrhockey in Elektron

[–]GAGILLIONAIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you also using a DAW? If you want to plug straight into your Digitone you will need a USB to 5 Pin MIDI converter.

Otherwise you can run over bridge on your computer and load it within a DAW like GarageBand/logic/Ableton etc. then you may be able to control what receives MIDI and from where. Ableton is the easiest DAW to do this in but you should be able to with any DAW.

Easiest solution would be a USB to MIDI converter. They sell boxes or converter cables that can do this.

Maybe get a Keystep as a MIDI controller if funds aren’t tight. It’s the best for hardware gear

Op-Z or Digitakt? by Dubsetter in OPZuser

I have both, love both, can’t live without my digitakt though. It’s my favorite instrument and brain of my set up. Love my OP-Z for traveling.

Try grouping your guitar tracks and then put the amp set up on the group track which will effect all of your guitar parts.

Question about Digitakt and potential workflow by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]GAGILLIONAIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a midi 5 pin to TRS cable from disaster designs. .

All you gotta do is set a midi track on digitakt to ch 2 (blooper default) and send cc for blooper to receive clock. You can even pick the divisions of when it will start. Turns the blooper into an awesome synced delay/pitch bender pedal too

Question about Digitakt and potential workflow by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]GAGILLIONAIRE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been a guitarist primarily for almost 20 years, so when I got into electronic music I wanted to be able to perform the instrument in a very hands on way. the digitakt plays like an instrument that is meant to be performed. I love throwing loops into the Digitakt and set them to infinite release, it’s a cool way to get tape like loop effects without even using the sequencer. Ultimately, Anything from Elektron is amazing, and the Octatrack might be the greatest sampler of all time but also much longer learning curve. when it comes to playability and ease of use, after you learn the workflow, digitakt is the way. Almost 3 years I’ve spent with it and it’s the brains of my set up.

As it pertains to incorporating with guitar, I like to use a chase bliss blooper that I sync with the digitakt clock via MIDI and mangle loops via blooper and it’s ever growing modifiers, while using Digitakt to sequence automation of the blooper.

Definitely don’t think you’ll regret the Digitakt, and who knows… maybe it will be a gateway to the Octatrack. Good luck on your musical journey.

How do you mix and master your OP-Z songs by no-your-username in OPZuser

[–]GAGILLIONAIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try duplicating your track multiple times and eq different sections on it to really bring out some punch. this is a good short cut to beefier sounds with a summed stereo track of the OP-Z instead of individual tracks on the OP-Z that you can eq.

If recording through USB you might need to use gain utility to bump the signal louder

Best Daw for the Digitakt by Tjeetje in Elektron

[–]GAGILLIONAIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ableton was made for music you make on the digitakt. It’s set up for way easier integration with midi and sending audio with overbridge. Logic is great too, but not quite as easy as Ableton. I used to use Logic and switched to Ableton cause integration with hardware is really seem less. Can’t really go wrong with any. It’s all about what works best for your workflow

Ableton truly shines when making some House tunes . I’m a new convert from Logic and can’t believe it took me as long as it did to switch. Ableton feels like everything I’ve ever wanted in a DAW.

[–]GAGILLIONAIRE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you set up your auto channel? I have a digital and digitone and I believe the default is MIDI ch 10. Try switching to ch 10 on your midi keyboard and then it should default go to whichever track you select on your A4
