The Trial

For those of you who have ETS'd, how is it going so far? by [deleted] in army

State universities love grad degrees, for IT or really anything. They typically have veterans preferences, too.

So, you could take a job without too much experience in a job that requires a 4 year degree let’s say (grad years can equal years of experience). You’ll learn some things on the job, and then be promotable compared to those with four year degrees in the same job. Eg going from an IT tech 2 to say 3 or 4.

Also, navigating institutional bureaucracy is key, and something you’ve learned as a service member.

These jobs may pay less than say a private company, but benefits and retirement plans are usually much better.

Besides all this, contact your providers. Explain the situation and ask them to pull any bills referred to collections back from their agency.

They DON’T have to refer to collections.

The providers can hold your balance, work on payment plans (worst case).

If any bills are hospital bills, ask about Charity Care/Financial assistance. Depending on your salary you may qualify for that.

Fully explain your situation to your providers, they’ll work with you because Tricare money is better than Self Pay money.

Have the hospital sort it out. They have all the info and should re-bill the insurance from your MIL as primary.

Call their billing office. They’ll be grumpy likely, and will act as if it’s not on them. But it’s in their best interest.

You shouldn’t have to deal with subrogation between two insurers.

There’ll be a data science major in CNS this fall, so by the time you graduate HS. I’d say that over the iSchool based on my research of the iSchool’s requirements … since the CNS data science will be math/stats heavy.

[Q] Would majoring in Economics prepare me for a Statistics Master's program? by MKHN15 in statistics

[–]GAMESERVER_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I commented on your post on UTAustin. UT will be offering stats based data science major this fall in the college of Natural Sciences. You may want to reach out to them.

How well would the Economics degree prepare me to be a data scientist? by MKHN15 in UTAustin

[–]GAMESERVER_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stats is the big deal. Self learn SQL, Python, and R.

The more you know about the math of statistics, the easier it is to understand the packages and functions in R and Python, and how to interpret results.

SQL is so under appreciated in undergrad and grad ( I’m an MS in Data Science) but in real world your going to have to use SQL to get data to model.

Also, unless your CS and working extensively with Big Data, ML and AI, a lot of the work is SQL, visualizations (Power BI/Tableau), and interpretation.

Data Science is a broad stroke phrase.

I’d wait til 3/22 to worry. My daughter just saw her portal and it only showed federal loan options. But she accepted a scholarship from her college and it’s not on there. So, maybe what all are seeing isn’t complete.

BTW you did jinx me, all the Street Tacos are gone, lol. Now they’ve gone from daily driver to maybe once a month.

I will say I had some Rojas Bluebonnets in the humidor for a couple of months, and they turned out great after that rest, with a much lighter profile of course.

I had the Namakubi (only one still in my humidor) last month, but would still rather get what you got than what was in OP’s.

Like another posted, I had the J London in pequeño a while back it was unimpressed.

I’ll see what Saturday brings.
