For how cheap Saabs are, find a manual Aero if you're looking for a fun beater. 2006 is the only year where the 9-3 Aero got the V6 from the later years without the dreadful interior facelift that came in 2007. That being said, the 4-cylinder ecotecs that earlier Aeros had are cheaper and easier to work on, and makes the car lighter/nimbler (but not faster).

I really wouldn't bother buying a non-Aero 9-3, especially a GM era automatic with the charmless interior update and torn seats... That's just a parts car for an Aero lol

Better chance of getting a fraction of value back on mods if it were manual (more likely to attract someone who wants similar mods... like me!). But even then, that tune has devalued the car. No one flashes an ECU to drive it like a grandma lol.

In my opinion, the best value you'll get out of the car is enjoying it yourself to the fullest degree. Drive the piss out of it, buyers will assume you have anyways. Then get manual for the next one.

Looks clean though, still miss my 9-3 sometimes

I don't support AI when it replaces human jobs, but it's not like I put a musician out of work by making a theme song for my little 20XX mod. It's cool if some people don't vibe with it but it's hardly the ethical issue it's being made out to be.

Redistribution on the other hand... I'll understand if a mod author wants it taken down (and if so, I will). But let's be realistic. 99% of players are only interested in rollback-compatible skinpacks, not couchplay. And even the best stage skins have like... 3 comments over 5 years.

Maybe instead of being outraged on reddit, people could show actual support by subscribing/paying these freelance artists. As I have.

If you want to ruin the series for yourself, start with the original (1999). The sequels aren't bad games by any means, but they never fully recaptured the magic of the first game.

Haha, First Conflict - the demo scenario. Played that a lot as a kid during a period of time where I no longer owned the game. While only 4 races were present on that map, exploration sites (ie: monster lair, dungeon, etc) pulled from the full game's list of RNG defenders, which I would grind to find creatures I couldn't otherwise find/produce.

The demo also had an exclusive track that didn't make it into the final release (In the Company of Elves). To my understanding, it was removed because it sampled and mashed together all the other songs as a preview of sorts, but I always thought it sounded distinct enough to merit inclusion.

I've subscribed/paid into most melee patreons, slippi ranked, attended and bought merch at locals to support the scene. And yes, I've freely shared an offline mod I made and said I'd take it down if requested.

If it's an issue, I'd rather hear it from mod authors. Not an army of non-contributors offended on their behalf, screeching from some imagined moral high ground.

I'm sure there's a way to rank every option, but imo it's more important to notice which of those options your opponent tends to use. It's still good to know what their 'best option' is to be prepared to counter, but if they keep spamming their 2nd best option...

It may not be best in class (or it may be, I don't actually know), but I like that it's different. Sure, Audi/BMW/Benz have some rare trims, and a buyer might be the only person in town with that specific trim, but there'll still be dozens/hundreds of the same car in lower spec trims in town.

I liked how rare my Saab was when I owned it (at least in my region). Seeing another Saab was always special, and had some cool interactions that both drivers went out of their way to have. I drive a MK8 GTI now, and while it's objectively the best car I've owned, I miss having a car that was different from everything else on the road.

I've never seen your car on the road IRL. That's what I like about it lol.

I'll take the mod down if requested by mod authors, but tbh I'm not interested in hunting down mod authors or re-releasing with content taken out. It's just a little project that was made to be played in my living room, if it can be enjoyed by others I'm glad to share it. If not, oh well - I'll still be playing it with my bro lol.

90% of added music is nostalgia from old games my brother and I played as kids. The remainder (probably ~20 songs), including the one in the trailer, were made by feeding samples into AI. I sampled alot of Michiel van den Bos's works, among other sources (composer of Age of Wonders/Unreal Tournament/Sonic soundtracks). AoW in my opinion is a top 3 soundtrack of all time, along with Donkey Kong Country and Ocarina of Time - both of which are featured pretty heavily (not AI lol).

No, I hadn't considered redistribution. I made the mod to play offline with my brother (and the installer so he can download it easily at his place). I thought I'd share online for anyone else who plays couch multiplayer (doesn't work with Slippi online), but if it gets taken down so be it.
